    Freightliner highway robbery!

I was wondering if anyone had any dealings with Wolverine Freightliner West in Ypsilanti, MI. If so, how did yours go? Here's mine: Started out Friday when I took the truck in for a faulty reading on the coolant temp gauge along with a few other things which they neglected to fix the week...

    How To Prolong Life

Don't mean to be a drag here. Unfortunately, too many of us go to bed after Jay Leno and wake up at 5 or 6 and work a 12 hour day or worse. And we wonder why our kids are getting to be like the devil incarnate. We are a society that doesn't put enough emphasis on taking care of ourselves and our...

What are you saying, Broom? That you're signing with FedEx but didn't want to in the first place?

    Those who served or didn't...

John Kerry did worse... he burned the flag with Hanoi Jane when he got back. I served in Desert Storm, not that it matters to my opinion. I'm just glad I got out before Clinton got in office. Personally, I'd rather have Clinton in than Kerry though. No action is better than undecided actions...

    Those who served or didn't...

That's pretty amazing... especially seeing that the party wants to nullify our military power has all these vets serving. What a bunch of sellouts! You'd think that since alot of them served in the "Korean Conflict", they'd see the uselessness of their beloved UN. Makes ya wonder who's paying...

    Looking to make the jump...

I did some checking for you on different expeditors. DMW Expediting is out of Nashville. Metro Express is out of St. Louis, but they only want T/Ts. Check out the advertisers here to see which one suits you best. If you want to be home more, in that area, I would say drive a van. It's alot...

    Definitely better than expected

Actually Sharp, the guy said it was a rusted clamp that broke. Apparently, it's a common thing. I realized our problems weren't connected today when I looked underneath to find nothing... I have a stack exhaust ROFL :7 :P :7 :P

Should I look at load boards instead of signing wi

RE: Should I look at load boards instead of signin boards are not going to pay as well, or be as consistant as regular expediting companies. If you aren't an expert at how the boards run, I wouldn't take a chance at them. You'd be better off trying to win the lottery.

Be careful what you ask for

Did you get paid for two loads or one since you made two p/u's? personally, I would've taken it. If it was FECC, I would've immediately started beating it across I-10 towards Houston or Dallas. If it was a tri-state company, I would've eaten the miles and be happy... unless the rate stunk. So it...

try reading the classifieds here. There are plenty of owners looking for drivers. Just make sure you both make some money for the owner, and make sure he pays you.

Hey RollinSt8, Your friend was far off from the truth. There's alot more that goes into expediting than just holding a steering wheel. It takes an understanding how your individual company works, where the frieght is, how far is too far out of range, how much you are REALLY making with each...

    Thank You Mr. President!!!!

    Express-1

mhoy40, I can tell you first hand that they're the real deal. I just got back with them and started running this past week. They'll keep ya busy. I can't wait till I can afford more trucks, cause I know right where to put em. And their dispatchers rock! :D

    Journal of an Expedite Driver

Have they revamped their pay scale? I remember it as a D unit getting .80/mile a number of years back, though they had tons of loads. When fuel was 1.00/gal this could work... but not now. Also, it seems they've cut back on their trucks (either voluntarily or not) as there aren't as many sitting...

No forced dispatch, what that really means?

Very well put! The only thing I can add is, sometimes the dispatcher is in a jam to get rid of a run. Maybe taking that run will get you a good run later when you're not due for it... who knows. I've heard of backstabbing dispatchers who suddenly forget your favors, but I've never had that...

    Thanks for all the help!

There's no big deal about hazmat to Canada. If it's flamable or explosive, you take a ferry. It takes longer, but customs there is usually much easier to deal with.

New Hurricane headed for the US

I know...he's the cause of all our woes. He did this, he did that, if your wife is cheating it's with him. I heard it all before. Go rent Farenheit 911 and praise it like Mein Kampf...they're both the same thing... propoganda (documentary indeed)
