$1,000,000 question. What Company is best suited f

RE: $1,000,000 question. What Company is best suit Leo, I understand your enthusiasm with Express-1, but like you said... you're a single driver. Singles and teams are apples and oranges. Some companies are good with apples, and some with oranges. If you're lucky, yours will be like a fruit...

    FAST

Very simple, Hoppy... If you still want the thrill of expediting, but can't go to Canada, go with a company who doesn't require you to go. There are a few out there. Express-1 comes to mind.

    Going another route

No... he was from the week after, I think. Nice truck... just guess he'd rather put more fuel in it for less $/mi. I haven't had much time to sit either... except in Syracuse. But on my way back from there, I got a run out of Erie as soon as I passed it. Didn't even get a chance to shower LOL

    Going another route

When I was at Express-1 headquarters this week, I met a semi driver taking off his stickers. He had only been there a week and had given up on the idea of expediting. I asked him why, and he said: "They got me down to NC and I sat there for TEN HOURS!" He told me he's just too anxious to be...

Does FECC require you to have 13,000 available for freight? That seems a bit high, as my truck weighs 20,000 with 1/4 tank, and has a GVW of 32,000. I like how Express-1 does it. For a D-unit you need a 20' box and 13k capacity, but they let me by. I think most trucks push that 20k empty range...

    Just a disgusting rumor?

ROFLMAO!!!!! No, I've never heard of that, but I'm glad it wasn't over the cb or I woulda crashed laughing! Mrs... what's worse? Going on the highway, or in a bottle which gets chucked out the window when it's full? There was an article from EO Home that was talking about the lawn mowers...

Canada Canadian runs are the way to go!

You're correct. My company is almost done getting verified. That will be so nice not having to stop. They never have anything good to eat in the machines :9

Canada FAST application and approval time

All you need is birth certificate and drivers license, not SSN card. If you have a passport, go for it. If not, it isn't worth getting one. Besides, having your birth certificate ensures you get your free meal at Denny's :+

mcbride, Express-1 doesn't have company drivers anymore. Too bad. They can send them to Chicago to pick up freight for us. :7

Canada Canadian runs are the way to go!

With my company, we get paid for getting stuck at customs over an hour if it's the shipper's fault. Usually, they get something wrong on the paperwork, send you to the wrong broker, or not call it in on time for PARS to kick in. I haven't gone to customs yet this month, and had two Canadian runs...

Canada Canadian runs are the way to go!

I'm not talking about the wait time to get into the country... just customs. Yeah, the bridge can be nasty, to say the least. Try and listen for bridge times. US customs are a different entity. You don't have something like PARS, though they're trying to get PAPS moving. Unfortunately, the...

Canada Canadian runs are the way to go!

For all you expeditors who are afraid of Canada...why? Did you hear the horror stories about customs being 5 hour wait? That doesn't happen anymore. It's rare that you even have to stop at customs. Shippers are usually more organized with their customs paperwork since they get charged if...

    Definitely better than expected

Leo... I went to Knoxville Freightliner and their trucks seemed great... especially the class 8s. Only reason I didn't get one was because I couldn't be financed. Now that I'm an o/o and have to think about money, I believe I'd rather get two trucks than pay 60k for that class 8. Maybe later...

    Freightliner highway robbery!

Thanx, everyone, for your replies! I'm going to try and get my money back from Freightcrapper, and find a new local mech. So far, the truck hasn't had any problems. Crossing my fingers. THawk

    Freightliner highway robbery!

Thanx Glen... I needed to vent cause I'm just starting out, and they not only took most of my fuel money, but they wasted Monday and Tuesday for me. I just wanted people to know to watch that place. I live in the Detroit area, so that's why I went to them. Unfortunately, I don't know any diesel...
