LDB...so you decided on Express-1, huh? Well, I'll be there with ya... I'm starting on the 27th as well. I'll be the tall guy with the Seahawks hat on and the FL106 in the parking lot.

    Thompson vs TST

both do basically the same thing. It may come down to rate per mile for you, but I have one bit of experience with Thompson. The o/o I drove for and I went to their orientation, and they told us it's manditory the truck stays out every other weekend. That was way back in 96, so I don't know if...

This may not be the Place but THIS HAS TO BE SAID

RE: This may not be the Place but THIS HAS TO BE S Usually the loading dock is the place for off-topic stuff such as this. What good would it do blowing the place to hell? The whole reason we're over there for is to free a people. What would it look like if we indiscriminately went in and...

Wee bit high on the price...

I'm not trying to knock an advertiser here, only make an observation. Is it just me, or does Fyda seem to have higher prices than what's normal? Does their financing takes higher risk buyers; and, if so, is that the reason for their high prices? I don't know... maybe they have higher quality...

Interested in getting into the buisness!!

If you have no experience in expediting, you would be better off driving for a company or owner for awhile. If you'd rather stay local, there are several in the area such as PDQ in Taylor and REI in Romeo (both go out of state as well). If you want to be home all the time, pick them... or try...

    Looking for a company.

Where are you located? And what is a swoop and squat? I had a couple myself, including flipping a D unit, and most companies can overlook them if preventable. My guess is that your company's insurance company wouldn't let them keep you on... only because of the closeness in dates of your...

Trying to get started but confused

I don't know Jung Express, though I have looked at their site. Nothing on it says anything about o/os having to get their own authority. My guess is, like most expediting companies, you use their authority; but you would be better off asking their recruiter. As far as being incorporated, doing...

    National Logistics Management

What do you mean, Pellgrn? Do you find them to be not worth the effort? Raceman...I will be running for the same company you do. Did you have to get your own authority to run with NLM or does your company let you use theirs? Thanx

John Kerry - Another Good Read.....

Hmm Road...I thought we were back into defecit before Clinton left office. And, of course, there's the little thing called 911...but we can't claim our economy heading south because of that. Doesn't matter who is in office, there is a cycle of recession/boom. Just depends what that president...

    Express-1

Actually, it was another company that acquired Express-1. I can't recall the name, but I read they operate down south mostly, and have also acquired an air freight company out of Kentucky. I've driven with Express-1 a number of years back, and know they are mostly regional. Teams with them were...

    All Types personal expierence

RE: pardon me I almost have to agree with Jizface based on my experience. I answered ad for an expediting company to find an o/o. Happens this business is out of the guy's home. He needs me to deliver a load to GM in Arlington, TX in 30 hrs by myself. I do the job and get paid, but find out the...

John Kerry - Another Good Read.....

Sure there are those who would take our freedom of speech...they're called the liberal press. Anyone who doesn't agree with the far left are ridiculed and berated till they look like a criminal. BTW...W and Cheney aren't questioning his record, I AM! Four months, three purple hearts, and NOT ONE...

    downshifting tips for eaton-fuller 7 spd non-sync

RE: downshifting tips for eaton-fuller 7 spd non-s When shifting down, just use the clutch. When shifting up, use the clutch, put it in neutral, then rev it a little. While the rpms are higher, try to ease it in gear...should slip right in. Takes some practice, and you will grind it...but that...

    65mph on OH turnpike

StayStrong, Revenue has little to do with it, at least in Michigan. The troopers or local police don't care if you're driving with the speed of traffic as long as it's not obvious you're being a cowboy. The main reason there's a split speed here in Michigan is that the weight allowance is the...

Paid miles per month, yearly average??

    Express-1 is 1.15 for a D-unit. Isn't Tri-state the lowest in the field? I remember their o/os griping about getting .81 a mile.
