Who is 'they'?
"They" are those who mainly need to whine for the sake of whining. "They" have to make up outrageous stuff about Obama to whine about, because for some reason the outrageous stuff he does on his own doesn't satisfy them. Some of "they" make up stuff, and the rest of "they" take it at face value as if it's real.

"They" are the same ones who lost their collective minds when Obama snubbed his nose at all of the men and women who are now serving, and who have ever served in the military, by not bothering to go and lay a wreath at Arlington National Cemetery on Memorial Day, because, HEY! IT"S THE NATIONAL CEMETERY for CHRISSAKES! These are the same brilliant, wise and patriotic "they" who apparently think the other 146 National Cemeteries, and the heroes therein interred, are somehow less important than those interred at Arlington, as "they" sought to rip Obama a new one for having the total lack of class and respect to instead lay a wreath at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Illinois (it was Lincoln's signature on a piece of congressional legislation, incidentally, that enacted the law authorizing the establishment of national cemeteries in the first place). These same "they" didn't utter a peep when Reagan spent Memorial Day weekend at his ranch in California instead of going to Arlington, or when Senior Bush spent the 3-day weekend either in Maine or at Camp David, never once having visited Arlington.

"They" are the hypocrites, who prefer their own invented fantasy world to reality.

Not to worry, though, as "they" have their exact opposites in a parallel universe, on the flip side of the coin.

Considering this day and age of photo ops and political posturing, perhaps it's better to pay attention to some of the funerals Obama has attended:

Nelson Mandela
Sen. Daniel Inouye
Sen. Robert Byrd
Rev. Clementa Pinckney
Sen. Tom Foley
Walter Cronkite

Six Funerals The Obamas DID Attend
Unlike how he treated conservatives Lech Kaczyński and “Iron Lady” Thatcher, Obama did send a prominent delegation to anti-American socialist Venezuelan dictator Hugo Chávez's funeral when he passed away about a month prior to Thatcher.
When it comes to Barack Obama insulting the dead, the funerals of Americans are no exception.
The president chose to fly 16 hours and allowed the State Department to spend $11.5 million for Nelson Mandela’s funeral...

Articles: Barack Obama's Funeral Favoritism
Granted this is pure speculation, but it's likely that if the recent funeral had been for Justice Ginsburg instead of Scalia our dutiful POTUS and FLOTUS would have been there dabbing their eyes for all the cameras and grieving fellow liberals.

Obama also went to Ted Kennedy's, toooo.

Since 1980 there has been 10 funerals for SCOTUS Justices. Of the 10, just 4 were attended by the President. That's it. Four

There is simply no historical precedent that suggests, much less requires, the President to attend the funeral of a Supreme Court Justice. If they want to go, they go. If they don't, they don't.

No kidding he is a puppet, no different than any of the republicans that ran against him would have been if they were elected.

I am amazed at how so many people have a hard on for Obama, I am a socialist and I certainly am not an Obama fan, but this crap is getting out of hand!!!!!

Agreed....if we turn into what our enemies are....doesn't that make us like them and we stand to lose to what being American means?....Truth, Justice and the AMERICAN way? Isn't that why we are here?...
an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth make us just like them...a vengeful, hateful society...thought we thrived to be better then that?....

Since 1953 there have been 2 funerals for Sitting SCOTUS Justices. That's it. Two. Both were attended by the sitting POTUS at the time (Eisenhower in 1953 and Bush in 2005). It's likely that Obama is the first POTUS to be absent from the funeral of a sitting SCOTUS Justice. That's significant, considering this is an election year and all the emphasis being put on appearances, compassion, inclusiveness, "reaching across the isle" and all the other political BS we hear from politicians and the media.

It's also worth noting that Scalia was not only the most influential conservative Justice on the Supreme Court, but also one of the most revered figures among the conservative movement. Like I suggested before, if it were Ginsburg's funeral he would've been there.

One other thought: wonder if he would've attended the funeral for Justice John Roberts, who single-handedly made ObamaCare legal and gave Barry his legacy achievement? Obviously he owes Roberts more than just respect.

The bottom line is Obama's compassion and concern is reserved for those who share his ideology. He'll be seen at funerals when it benefits his political agenda, even though he may never have met the deceased - i.e. Walter Cronkite.

There have been four, not two. Four. Two were attended by the President, and two were not. See Post #15.

The is no historical precedent, no rules, regulations, decorum, traditions or anything else that might suggest the President needs to attend a SC Justice funeral just because he's the President.
t's also worth noting that Scalia was not only the most influential conservative Justice on the Supreme Court, but also one of the most revered figures among the conservative movement.
Therefore the liberal Democrat President is supposed to attend? That makes no sense. Biden attended, not because Scalia was a revered conservative Justice, but because he and Scalia were friends, and his wife and Scalia's wife were long time close friends.

Like I suggested before, if it were Ginsburg's funeral he would've been there.
Obama and Ginsburg are friends, so yeah, probably.
