I see a LOT of this same sort of thing that is being post in here in those cheesy 'tracts' that are left in men's rooms all the time. Lots of hatred spewed in those things in the name of Christ. I have seen ones that were anti-Catholic, anti-Mormon, anti-Jewish, many are VERY racist and some are just anti-everything.

I also wonder just how many one true religions there are out there?

I somehow doubt that Christ was like that. Too bad SO many of his followers are.

This is getting ugly. It needs to tone down.

Are you reading another forum or something? Hatred? Racist? Getting ugly?

There is an adult conversation going on here and if you feel that you can add to it, please do, but please do not accuse people of being racist(?) and claim that things are getting ugly(?) when in fact they are not.

My pastor doesn't like organized religion, they get in the way of our relationship with God. The other pastor said it isn't necessary for us to be in church every Sunday as long as what we are doing is being done for the glory of God.

Imagine that...someone changed the rules....Pope must have had a vision...LOL

Must have been it. Religions are mans inventions. All all flawed because man has put his stamp on each one. To pick on one, or those that one does not believe in, is not good. After all, there is a chance that one could be wrong. Blind faith is blind.

And that would be the right answer. The post Witness puts up is out of a Ron Rhodes book. The guy is a evangelical Christian. Of course he is going to give a slanted prospective from his viewpoint. It would have no more accuracy than a Mormon writing about his religion.

I agree with the organized religion aspect of what your pastor is saying but the Church thing is a little tricky. Christians are to have fellowship with other Christians in order to keep the "Body" of Christ alive and well.

If you don't go to Church I am not one to believe that you are not a Christian, but if you omit that portion of the Christian walk, I believe you are only doing yourself a disservice. The Church is the body of Christ and fellowship with other believers is vital in keeping the life-giving blood flowing in order to become a more mature Christian.

I choose to attend Church every Sunday wherever I am, but the Bible says:

“For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them” (Matthew 18:20).

You could be attending a Bible Study, having coffee with a fellow believer, riding your motorcycle with other Christians but make it a priority to meet together with other Christians wherever that may be.

Humph, if we don't play the way I want then I'm going home and not play at all, aka I'll vote for a 10 on the negative scale rather than a 7 on the negative scale because I can't vote for my guy so I don't care if the decidedly worse guy wins, or, I won't vote at all even though that means a negative 10 may win rather than a negative 7. Yeah, that's a mature and sensible attitude.

My cinviction and belief is Obama has to go so contrary to some.peoples thinking I am not giving them up. I also do not think America is going to suddenly vome to a screeching halt because the unelectable wont be elected.

This entire thread is about nothing but trying to get some.people not to vote for Romney.

Wow! The post I put up is what mormons believe in, no matter who wrote it, they are the facts. It is the same facts that I posted from a mormon that was on their official mormon website .

With that logic, we cannot believe anything about the mormon religion even when a mormon scholar states it as fact.

I don't know? Not all Mormons believe the same thing. If you took a single writing from a Muslim site, would you then say they all believe that writing?
Just not the case when you get into religion.
I do think at the end of the day the actual motive is a attempt to discredit Romney based on his religion which was previously mentioned.
Like any candidate, it is a consideration, but for me personally, I am looking at more than just that as a disqualifying credential.

Somewhat of a shallow opinion, but your opinion none the less.

I cannot speak for Amonger but if his intentions are to post facts about a certain religion and if he believes he cannot voter for a person for that reason, he has every right to do so. Threads are started everyday here in the soapbox to try and convince people not to vote for Obama. The problem with that though, 9 outta 10 times the threads aren't based on any kind of truth or facts.

One problem is strongly held opinion is often wrongly asserted as fact, and is believed to be facts. Another is that sweetened up propaganda is often taken to be factual.

Yes, it is true that Mormonism, comprising the 4th largest religion in America, is a religious cult. They are a bad, evil cult because they do it a little too differently for mainstream Christians. It's not like the eleven different flavors of Baptist cults because at least those Baptists are in the ballpark playing the same game. But those evil Mormons, "How DARE they take MY Bible and interpret it wrong! How DARE they believe in something IN ADDITION to the Bible! Where's my snake?"

Jesus referring to North America as told by the Mormons....There was more then just the middle east cultures.... Christians seem to assume all the action was in the east....NA did not exist to them in those times...

Do you believe that John was referring to North America from that line of scripture?
