"multiple expletives" ACLU

Yes, and so ... what's the point?

If the conservatives would also jump on board with sticking to the constitution, not much of this would happen but they, like the liberals are as much to blame for how our prison system works and the 'rights' felons get as much as the ACLU.

Sure most "lawmakers" are to blame for a lot of this. Many lawmakers are lawyers. They pass laws to insure a steady stream of clients for their buddies. The revolving door makes their bank accounts grow fatter every day.

No it isn't just lawmakers, it is religious leaders, it is people who feel that criminals owe a debt to society and not the victims, it is the people who are complacent in their lives and ignore crime. It is most of the population who are both liberal and conservative alike.

When was the last time laws were passed to restrict what a convicted criminal gets?

When was the last time the country was upset with an issue that was directly related to a criminal's punishment?

Much of society not only ignores crime, they excuse it. Just as they excuse the filth that they live in.

What do you mean "restrict what a criminal gets"

Many around here are far from complacent about crime but the law does not allow us to do much about it. The government has assumed just about all aspects of law enforcement and they are NOT doing a very good job. The lawmakers keep "inventing" crimes to keep the industry going.

The point was pretty obvious, guess you just have to make an attempt to see it.

As usual, the comments [following the linked article] were hilarious.
Just one [by "Tea Partier", if memory serves] pointed out the truth: the ACLU is contending that the restrictions are overly broad, NOT promoting porn.
When newspapers are rejected for ads with women in lingerie [which is pretty much every single one of them], and magazines for an image of Venus de Milo, the prison authorities' definition of 'porn' is definitely in need of revision.
It's hard to imagine anyone outside the prison walls believing prisoners should be allowed to have porn, but c'mon - if they want to read newspapers and magazines such as The Smithsonian [likely candidate for the Venus de Milo photo], they're probably smarter than 90% of those [Conservative Byte readers] who commented on the 'story'.

It is obvious that the blogger has to make a post of some sort to keep his readers coming back for more but so is the problem that this has been going on for 50 years with the ACLU and prisoners. There isn't really a point to be made when it is old news.

Cause they broke the law and got caught. Doesn't mean they're dumb, always. [Though some are, spectacularly so.] :D
My point was that people don't read the actual article to know what they're commenting on - the ACLU is not saying inmates should have porn, or anything like it, and they never have.
Misquoting or misunderstanding doesn't do much for credibility, is all I'm sayin.

I probably should have contacted the ACLU when I used a "Bad" word(s) to the Bolt dispatcher and got canned for it.:p
