CIS_Logo_60_1.jpgAccepting Certificates of Insurance directly from the Motor Carrier versus the Insurance Agent opens the door to fraudulent Certs that can include nonexistent “Any Auto”, “Hired Auto” or “Blanket Cargo” coverage.  Best Practices require the Agent of the Motor Carrier provide the Acord Certificate including the Agent promise of Hired Auto and Blanket Cargo.

Be sure to ask for the annotation on the Cert that states the Liability and Cargo coverage promised on the Cert extends to ALL units hauling on behalf of the Motor Carrier.
