The Water is Up to my Windows...Am I Covered?
Hi Everyone,
How scary is this? You go into the Pilot for some late night snacks & settle into your sleeping area for a long winter’s nap.
You wake up at 3:00 a.m. to water slushing just below your windows. Flash floods are rare, and I’d think the vehicle would be the least of your worries…. but I received this call last March from Tom, who wanted to know what to do.
I told him to towel off, get a room and relax. Vehicles are covered for Flood under their Comp Coverage, so he paid $100 for his deductible and the unit was completely replaced by his insurance carrier.
…I just wish I slept that deep.
Moral: As long as you carry Comp on your vehicle, don’t worry about Flood. “Home Insurance†does not include Flood coverage…or Earthquake for that matter.
