Goodbye Beano Guy

Hi Everyone,  I received some emails this week that weren’t insurance related….which was fun.   Folks noticed my new logo and wanted to know what happened to my CIS Beano Guy cartoon.

Well, after much deliberation…I’ve determined it’s time to retire the Beano Guy.   (Actually after much razzing from Sean Masters with Expediters Online!)

When I started in Expediting Insurance several years ago, the purpose of the Beano Guy driving a truck was to share a friendly face on the not so fun, very practical topic of insurance.   Let’s face it, no one wants to talk about it, much less buy it…so the Beano Guy was just a way to lighten things up a little.

Now I have the challenge that folks see the Beano Guy driving a Semi and think that’s what I insure, when in reality, 55% of the units I insure are Cargo Vans and Sprinters, 40% are Straights and about 5% are Big Rigs.   Most are for individual Owner Operators or Small Motor Carriers who need Liability and Cargo.

I’ve also shortened our formal name of Commercial Insurance Solutions to C.I.S….kind of like Kentucky Fried Chicken to KFC.

So GoodBye Beano Guy…you’ve been great and I’ll always appreciate the number of conversations you’ve opened for my Expediting Insurance Biz with a simple “…So, Shelly, what is that, a peanut or bean”?

Have a great day, everyone!
