Mask up when on the shipper or receiver’s property or someone else might end up doing your job. When we accept a load we are agreeing to follow the customer's rules and while those rules might seem a little wacky to us they are the rules. If we choose to disrespect the customer they could or even should start shopping for a carrier who will show respect.
Yesterday I saw a copy of Executive Order 13991 – Use of Faces and Other Public Measures. Basically, if you are on Federal property you must wear a mask. This harsh rule means if you are exercising, walking, or not in a closed room with the door closed you must have a mask on.
The employees do not make the rules they have to follow the rules.
So, agree or disagree if you go onto another’s property and they require a mask wear a mask, there are other companies just waiting in the wings to steal that customer.
