It's a Team's Life

Hey I remember that spot

The other day I was reminded as I drove under an overpass to get onto I-35 going north that many years ago we lost an injector at that very location.  This caused us and others a lot of stress as we had a load that could not go inside a building,  it was January, and below zero temperatures.  What a mess to get that load into a secure location and to get our truck fixed so we could continue on.

Not all memories are that stressful.  A couple we knew that have long since retired we would often see out here and meet up all over the country.  When going through Little Rock there is one particular Cracker Barrel that we met at before we both loaded at the same location with different destinations.  Every location that we met up with them always brings back a happy memory.

When in Bordentown, NJ at the Petro I remember meeting a friend of ours in a van and we all went to a very nice dinner at a location that they had found nearby.  When we stop at a truck stop in Gilroy there are memories of meeting a couple there that we are still friends with and at another time several of us rented a car and traveled to see the Winchester House.

The Sacramento 49’er also has good memories of renting a car with another couple and going over to San Francisco for the day.  While in Orlando a few of us traveled to Busch Gardens and had a great day riding the rides.  I purchased a magnet of the roller coaster we rode and when I see that magnet at home I smile at how bad my heart dropped when I realized how wicked of a roller coaster we were on!

Not all memories are pleasant, as we travel south on I-29 I remember where we lost the Huey Pump on our M2 and had to be towed to a shop on a three-day weekend. Turned out as good as it could as we rented a car and went home and we were at a very good shop that quickly diagnosed the problem and got our truck fixed.

There is a turn in the road on I-5 in northern California where I remember setting my coffee in my smoothie cup and making a terrible mess!  There was not much I could do at the time but drive on and not have my coffee or my smoothie.  My bad luck was Bob woke up and as he was peering out the front window he looked down and saw the mess.  His words cannot be repeated here.

All over the country, we have memories tied to locations that usually bring a smile as they are pleasant.
