Here is a good rule of thumb to remember when going north in the winter buy as little fuel as possible south.  It is as easy as that remember if you take a load south of I-70 going to the north and the temperatures are going to be frigid head that was with less fuel in your tanks. 

Once you get north of I-70 start looking for fuel as it has been treated to not gel.
