Coffee is the best!

Coffee has always been served black and hot and never with sugar or cream.  This family tradition has always been remembered with fond memories as we planned our weekend or rehashed the past week.  I have enjoyed having a hot drink in the morning and really it makes no difference if it is coffee, decaffeinated coffee, or even hot tea just as long as it is hot summer or winter.

Many years ago, when we got into the first over the road truck the first thing I packed was my Mr. Coffee which totally baffles Bob as he does not drink coffee and does not understand the importance.  Over time I upgraded to a Keurig coffee maker and have one now in the truck as well as at home.  What I did not like about the Keurig is the limited choice of K-Cups and the price.  Jeez, each cup of coffee was costing me .57 cents at the time and I had to find a place to carry all of those K-Cups.

The Keurig is preferred as there is never any coffee sloshing around in a carafe and I can make one or two cups of coffee each morning.  Home or on the road I do not use a coffee cup I use my Contigo travel mugs as this keeps my coffee hot just like I like it.  Each morning I make two cups of coffee that will last me a few hours and no more wasted coffee as it got to cold to drink. 

I kept searching for a better way than to use the K-Cups and a few years ago I found it.  A reusable coffee filter that works perfect in my Keurig and does not create a mess. Now when I see a coffee that interests me I can buy it and use my filters for the best cup of coffee every day.  The only place I have been able to find these perfect filters for the truck are at Target and they are called Perfect Pod EZ-Cup Filters and you get 50 for 4.99.  The filters fit in a Perfect Pod EZ Cup reusable container also bought at Target. 

Now I have the best of the best for me a travel Keurig and not spending a fortune on K-Cups.  We also use the Keurig to heat up water for hot tea.  We have regular tea bags as well as green tea bags, add water to the Keurig, place tea bag in the container, and walha hot tea and once again no expensive K-Cups used. Another benefit to this is no K-Cups in our landfills that will not disintegrate.
