It's a Team's Life

4th of July

Over the years Bob has glimpsed some amazing Firework displays as he drives through different cities.  The only time I get to see a fireworks display is when we are with family or friends and I stay up later than usual.

My favorite memories of the 4th of July are as a family day.  Usually, we had a picnic lunch followed by the children’s parade then back home to cool off. The afternoon was usually spent playing a few board games with a picnic supper and then off to the baseball fields for the perfect spot to watch the firework show.

Many times, I am thankful we brought up our girls in the small town of Elkhart, Kansas as we know either the children in the parade, their parents, or their grandparents, and probably where they live.   Even though we have moved away from Elkhart we still have family there and we are always glad to go back ‘home” and participate once again in the activities.

For me, the 4th of July Celebration is about family, friends, and proud to be an American.
