Starting the year with a clean slate is exciting and it is a time to mentally think about what can be done better or differently. How can we make our lives more satisfying?

During this past year, I have spent a lot of time learning about how having less can be more. The more we have the more we have to maintain, the more we maintain the higher the stress level.

Spending time cleaning out closets and really thinking about why in the world are we keeping something has happened a lot. The hard part has been to not see something cute or something that looks neat and not buy it. The question has been throughout the year; do I need that and if I get that what am I going to get rid of? We have all of the basics so would that item become a dust collector?

Health is always on our minds this time of year and what can be done to improve in 2017? Eat more often in the truck which will also reduce meal expenses. Create less waste buy what we will eat and work at throwing out less. Creating less trash is also a goal for 2017.

Spending less time on the computer, Facebook, and checking email is also a goal. Is it possible to not constantly look at the phone for new messages? We need our phone for business, but can the habit be broken of not constantly look at it for entertainment? Can we get to where we enjoy our surroundings and learn once again to look up and see what is happening around us? Maybe the phone also needs to be decluttered and those entertaining apps deleted.

This is also a good time to look at longer range goals such as where do you want to be in 2018?

I am very excited about 2017 how about you? What are your plans to change or improve on in 2017?
