Home for a Birthday

Today I had promised to be home for my son's birthday dinner, so I was hoping to get a run that would allow me to be back home tonight.  It hurts to turn down big runs, but I was just hoping, ya know?  It's not like he's a little kid, he's 20, in college, but still lives at home, and who knows how many more 'at home' birthdays we'll have with him.  I'm sure before too many years, he'll be getting married, have his own home, and birthdays will spent with his own family, so it's good to take the time now. I'm still not sure how the heck I got so old that my youngest child is 20 ! LOL.

Anyway, it worked out perfectly. I got a run of approximately 300 miles that picked up about 100 miles South of Home and delivered about 200 miles North of home! Couldn't ask for too much better! I delivered early afternoon, and was home by 5:00 and went out of service to spend a nice relaxing evening with the family.  We had a nice dinner, and I decided to stay out of service til tomorrow morn so I can get rested up, and then go make some cash to finish my Christmas shopping LOL!
