A great number of us will be out on the road when Election Day (Nov.7) comes around. NOW is a good time to contact your County Election Board and request an absentee ballot.

Excellent advice. You can't complain if you don't vote. And yes, every vote matters...............ask Al Gore

No, my vote counts more b/c I live in Texas which has 34 electoral votes to give rather than Joe's vote from Indiana which has only 11 electoral votes. But of course Jim in California, his vote is worth more than mine and Joe's b/c CA has 55 to give. Of course outside of a presidential election, every vote does indeed count. :)

I just send a fax to the county clerk and my ballot is usually there the next day. I usually vote about a week early.

If you want your vote to count more, vote in the primaries. Not very many people vote the primaries so your vote is worth more.

Unless you vote Democrat in Texas primaries. ;)

And actually, in Texas if you want splinter party/third party candidates on a ballot, you cannot have voted in the primary and then sign their petition for their name on the ballot. That's my excuse for missing this year's primary so I could sign on to Kinky Friedman's petition for his name to be included on the ballot for the Texas Gubernatorial race.

But I whole heartedly agree, if you know you're not going to be home for the general election, please contact your Secretary of State and/or county clerk, or whatever offices you have in other states that deal with elections, and make sure you get what you need to ensure your vote gets counted.

If I'm on the road this election day, I'll be driving and listening to the news. I'll forego all the "If you don't vote, you can't :censoredsign:" and "If you vote third party, you're throwing your vote away" and just listen to the news and know that the status quo will be upheld.

If I'm at home, I'll probably slink across the street to vote. Not that it'll do anything. I'll vote Constitution party, and it'll just be a blip of a useless jesture.

I don't know who picks these ppl to lead us, cause I sure don't. My illusions of what a change in power would do was dashed not long after Bush's election. The contract with America? A great concept turned to ancient history. Take a good look around and tell me we aren't getting sold out by the ppl who are SUPPOSED to be our public servants.
