Bad blood at best. Intraparty civil war at worst.

"Good, 58, who won his first race in 2020 by knocking off a moderate GOP incumbent, Denver Riggleman, is one of four Republicans who are being targeted by members from within their own conference. In the other cases, it’s far-right Republicans maneuvering to take out colleagues they view as insufficiently conservative." (Source)

They’re not in lock-step like the other party. Some don’t just go along while things get worse. Stop the 2 trillion plus a year deficits and quit digging by sending billions to the money pit in Ukraine, for starters.

It's Official; Marjorie Taylor Greene is an Idiot

Confirmed by FOX News

Side note in the article:

"The ouster of the popular McCarthy also torched the public’s view of the GOP. In May 2023, registered voters were evenly split between approving and disapproving of the Republican Party. Today, there is a 25-point gap, with 61% disapproval and 36% approving. That will not help win elections."

Quote of the Week

Referring to Gaetz, Greene, et al, former US House Speaker Newt Gingrich said, "You can’t govern by shooting yourself in the head every day."

I assume you're fishing for a comment from me about Lauren Boebert, a CO House member to whom I haven't given much attention until now. That's because when she first came on the political scene she appeared to be a loudmouth redneck with little of substance to offer in Congress. Her trashy behavior in a public theater simply reinforces that opinion. Hopefully the Republicans will find a better representative to primary her in the next election.

Regarding her four sons, they probably don't care about her behavior. The tabloids are claiming her 17 yr-old son recently knocked up his high school girlfriend, and Boebert is piously crowing the she hopes the girl will "choose life" as her mother did coincidentally at the same age, and as she did with him at age 18. Having children as a teenager must be a tradition passed from one generation to the next. Sounds like a truly all-American family.
If fundraising and GOP assembly support are valid indicators, it seems Republicans like Lauren Boebert more than they dislike her and her family's trashy behavior. It seems Republican voters are intent on returning this trashy, toxic, dysfunctional, moron to the US House. Such is the state of today's Republican Party.

Fundraising

"In her new district, Boebert out-raised a crowded field of Republican primary rivals and finished the quarter with nearly $1 million in the bank — more than all the other candidates for the 4th CD, Republicans combined.

While the $462,403 Boebert reported in contributions for the period marks a sharp drop from her previous quarterly totals this cycle, it was still more than twice as much as any other Republican brought in."

GOP Assembly Support

"Lauren Boebert achieved a significant victory during an assembly meeting on Friday, emerging as the leading candidate for the Republican nomination to represent Colorado’s 4th Congressional District in the November elections.

"In Colorado, candidates seeking a spot on the Republican primary ballot for a House seat must either secure a minimum of 30 percent of the vote at a congressional district assembly or gather a certain number of valid signatures on a petition, alongside at least 10 percent support at the assembly."
