What is in Barry's Stimulus Bill?

Osamaba sayes we have to pass this stimulus bill as it is and changes can't be made, that politics should not be involved, just pass the bill or it "could plunge the nation into a long-lasting recession that might prove irreversible" (his exact words).

LOL, here are 50 things that are in this garbage bill that we as a nation can't survive without. Each one of these listed items are a link that you will have to go to the site link to read.

While some of these are worthwhile , they have no place in an "emergency" bill and they don't 'stimulate anything, and most important, alot of them are not the governments responciblity to begin with...

Here's another look inside Obama's Porkulus Bill - $787 BILLION in increased welfare spending, according to an analysis by the Heritage Foundation (bold emphasis mine):

"In the first year after enactment of the stimulus bill, federal welfare spending will explode upward by more than 20 percent, rising from $491 billion in FY 2008 to $601 billion in FY 2009. This one-year explosion in welfare spending is, by far, the largest in U.S. history. But spending will continue to rise even further in future years. The stimulus bill is a welfare spendathon, a massive down payment on Obama's promise to 'spread the wealth'."

"Once the hidden welfare spending in the bill is counted, the total 10-year fiscal burden (added to the national debt) will not be $816 billion, as claimed, but $1.34 trillion. This amounts to $17,400 for each household paying income tax in the U.S."

Welfare Spendathon: House Stimulus Bill Will Cost Taxpayers $787 Billion in New Welfare Spending

This is one of the many areas where I hope Obama fails. However, it's not likely since he has a Democrat majority in Congress and can pass anything he wants, unless the GOP can convince some Bluedog Democrats to come to their senses. Looks like the best retirement fund right now would be to buy gold coins and bury them in your back yard. As for those of us who work our @sses off to support our families in a decent standard of living, we'll also be supporting the welfare parasites and the illegal Mexicans as well in the name of 'fairness".

Can you say, National Socialist Party? The beginning of the end is here. Watch out for the nationalizing of the Banks first, then the public utilities and finally our heavy industry. Anyone think the government is capable of handling any of this? Really? Do you really trust them handling your entire life? If so, you a crazier than I thought you were, who ever you are!!! I wonder who this Neo-Nazi is going to use for his "ScapeGoat"? Hitler had the Jews, Catholics, Homosexuals and the handicaped to enslave and kill. Besides the un-born children who will Obama kill? Gun owners? Small business owners? Maybe even go after the Jews again. Nothing would surpise me. This government now seated is one of the scariest I have ever seen in history. Freedom is dying. It still amazes me, we will be the first country in history to willinglly give up our freedom for empty promises. Thank you all you Obama Bums. Enjoy your "Feebies" IF you can knowing how many died for that freedom you now throw away!! IF you can after you see what "Freebies" REALLY cost. Layoutshooter

Hi

7.5% unemployment yep that means more people on welfare. So if we don't pass the stimulus plan unemployment will increase and so will the cost of welfare.Creating 2.5 million jobs = 2.5 million people off of welfare and out of the unemployment line. These people will spend money which will stimulate the economy.Seen it happen first hand here in small eastern Ohio town.AEP was running new power lines along side of US22 this summer.Every morning there was a traffic jam at the gas station in Freeport OH as the power line guys filled the trucks and get their coffee and donuts. Before this happened the owner of the gas station was thinking about closing up because he was barely getting by.

Rebuilding the infrastructure of this country is the best thing we can do right now.We will actuallty have something to show for the money spent unlike the bank bail out.Run the scenario of the money through your head.Who is getting it and what are they going to do with it.Banks are going to protect themselves by putting the money someplace safe(their pockets).Construction companies are going to buy equipment(Caterpiller Komotsu Paccar), hire workers (cut unemployment)buy building materials(Georgia-Pacific Wheeling Pitt Steel Pella)contract consults(Chemist designers architects)food and lodgeing(McDonalds Cracker Barrel Holiday Inn Red Roof Inn) Then all the people who work for those companies are going to be spending money. I like the construction scenerio better. It doesnt matter if your upper middle or lower class your still going to get something.I wish they would of passed this before giving money to GM and Chrysler. These two would of been better off just selling trucks to the constrution workers.

Yea, the government is out friend. How high will you raise my taxes to pay for all of this? What about the massive inflation that massive public spending causes? Get the government out of most everything, they can't even tie thier own shoes let alone run a railroad or a car company. Other than a few needed services and the military the Federal Government could just go away and I would never miss them. They are, for the most part, the cause of most of the problems. Both the Dumbecrats and the Rebumlicans. Layoutshooter

1st most of this socalled infastructure work won't happen for probably 18 minths to 2 yrs.... no white males experienced in construction, just minorities that will need to be trained "on the job!" I thinkin massive losses in over runs, so less work in a timely basis and less work totally because of expense....

Socialism hasn't worked anywhere it has been tried, not goin to work here either.... then we have the hyper inflation that is going, anf the dollar taking a dump to the lowest it has ever been, no one will loan to the US, the treasury notes won't be able to be sold so the FED will buy them up with money that a simply "printing" with nothing to back it up , so the paying power of those follar you are working for becomes less and less and it cost you more just to feed yourself..... yea this is all good... Right... and thats just the start, when your grandkids are paying 40% income tax on their just average wage , they will be blaming grand dad and grandma for all of this, but they can really blame Barry and the Libs!!!!

More pork (read - payback) that's in Obama's so-called "stimulus bill": $4.19 BILLION FOR ACORN. This is the group for which he was general counsel while he was a "community organizer". Wonder how many dead voters they can register as Democrats with that kind of money?

"Incredibly, the Democrats’ bill makes groups like ACORN eligible for a $4.19 billion pot of money for “neighborhood stabilization activities.” Funds for this purpose were authorized in the Housing and Economic Recovery Act, signed into law in 2008. However, these funds were limited to state and local governments. Now House Democrats are taking the unprecedented step of making ACORN and other groups eligible for these funds..."

The entire article from John Boehner's website:

ACORN Could Get Billions from Democrats' Trillion Dollar Spending Plan | Republican Leader John Boehner

This is starting to look like Hillary Clinton's health bill back in the '90s. The more people found out about it, the worse it got. Trouble is, the GOP can't stop this thing since the two senators from Maine and Spector from PA have defected. Obama, Pelosi and Reid can get anything they want with those three turncoats on board. One wonders how much damage they can do between now and the off-year elections in 2010.

Re: What is in Barry's Stimulus Bill?

Here's a good graphic representation of the "Stimulus Package". Note that at the very top they point out that out of the 33% that's supposed to be "tax relief", $100 Billion is actually credits (spreading the wealth) that are paid to people that don't pay any taxes. Couple that with the provision that does away with the Welfare Reform enacted in the '90s, and you can easily see the direction Barack Hussein Obama wants to take the country. Don't forget - this guy had the most liberal voting record (whenever he actually showed up to vote) in the entire senate.

Taking Apart the $819 billion Stimulus Package

The centerpiece of President Obama's domestic agenda is an $819 billion economic stimulus plan. The Senate will consider the measure this week, with an eye toward the amount of tax cuts and spending. Republicans and Democrats spar over what to consider a tax cut. An analysis by the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office tallies the tax-cut portion to be significantly less than the one-third Democrats claim it to be.
