USDA and machine guns

Why should any government agency outside specific law enforcement agencies such as U.S. Marshalls, FBI, air marshals etc. have weapons of any sort much less machine guns?

One possible explanation for the request could be that the weapons would be used by the law enforcement division of the United States Forest Service, which falls under the jurisdiction of the USDA.

But then again, it's just easier to holler and scream about the big bad government and how they are planning a complete takeover of our lives than research the subject.

They are worried about farmers as the confiscate their land.
Eminent Domain is easier when you are armed.

The US Forest Service's Law Enforcement and Investigation Unit is a part of the USDA. That's probably where the guns are headed. They have to deal with Clive Bundy somehow. <snort>

If you notice, every federal agency is beginning to become armed in military fashion. They're not stupid, they know a revolt is coming.

The government's actions would be the cause of any revolt. They are very close to "crossing the line".

There is no NEED for the US forest service to be armed. In fact, there is no real need for the US Forest Service.
