That's no joke. If you want to get the economy rolling get rid of government. They are the cause not the solution.I will tell you one thing, after listening to everything being said about how bad and dire things are with the economy I hate to think what people will be saying if it really gets bad. Like in 1920, 1929 or 1970-84. We have had it far to good for far too long. The reaction to this resession proves that. Layoutshooter

In 1977 thru 1981, I was laid off three times working for a union trucking company.In 81 bought truck and had it repoed,in 1982,82 got another truck and own authority,and hauled produce,'til I found Roberts Express.

I was laid off from 4 jobs at the same time in 1975. I think the un-employement during that recession and period of stag-flation peeked at 14% in 1982. It dropped quickly as the tax cuts took hold. Layoutshooter

Obummer just needs to shut up every time he opens his mouth the market takes a hit. Everything out of his mouth is doom and gloom i can't think of one positive think he has said. Even former pres Clinton has pointed this out. This demoncrat is spending more money in next 2 years than the gov has spent since George Washington. By the way someone has to pay for this. Now they are talking about taking the banks over wow this will be a great idea we can go see comrade Franks for a loan. Soon the government will be setting our rates since demoncrats seem to know whats best for everyone. And before someone crys about the word demoncrat i was one up untill clinton ran the 2nd time. I lost all respect for the party of zero values.

actually i believe you can spend over a million dollars a day for the last 2000 years and not spend over what the bill spends that would be only 730,000,000,000 this is what closer to 850*10^9 when the dust settles.

You want to stay busy in expedite,get a crystal ball.Its not who you are, its where you are.If your in the right place at the right time,you will be busy,if not,buy a large jigsaw puzzle.Some may think favoritism,it's not.As I said,you just have to be in the right place at that right time.Bad thing is,when movement is slow,you no longer can make deals for pre dispatch,or extra money,someone is always willing to work cheap.Especially,the drivers that get paid a mileage rate, or dont have to buy the fuel.They will take anyload,no matter to them if owner makes money or not,'til he goes broke and he can't pay them.

what location man?Before Chicago ,Detroit ,Indianapolis,was good bords.Now you spend 2-3 days to get a load.Expediting is no business anymore...

Ive been home for 10 days,I load monday,but have turned down C and D freight all week. The loads have been discounted loads,but ,this cant be helped,as all the expedite companies are giving their customers big discounts. This is happening 'cause the truck load carriers are giving truck load and ltl rates to the expedite industry.If our companies would stick to their published tariffs, when these receiving companies get shut down because the brand x carriers dont deliver on time,all will be back to normal.This wont happen overnight,but it will happen.
To survive right now,your going to have to improvise,tighten your belts,and if you think prayer is going to help,then pray,but while your praying,someone is taking a cheap load that might have taken you to a better area,or load.
