Don't know about anyone else , the actions taken by social media companies over the last little while are sort of disturbing.

I see that the article is written by the Free Thought Project, i am not familiar with that group , anyone know about them?

It's part of a systemic program to censor and restrict any conservative thought or speech. It's part of the left's program to overthrow the Constitution and destroy the nation from within.

And yet, here you are ... in a place where your speech is significantly - if not enormously - restricted.

Would you do away with the right of the owner of this (private) enterprise, to moderate and police this board as he deems fit ?

What happened to: "It's his sandbox, so his rules ..." ?

Is he not allowed to determine what "community standards" are relevant and acceptable ... and should be enforced on speech on a platform he created ?

Changed the rules after becoming a monopoly with the help of his big tech buddies.
Before becoming monopoly advertise as public square, now purging conservative voices they disagree with. Facts matter.

Absolutely correct, a private enterprise should be in control of their platform.

So is it your position then, that were EO to do an IPO and take the company public (hey - we all hope for better days in expediting right ?), that the shareholders should forego the right to have management operate the business in a manner that they and management approve of ?

I have not a clue about how a private enterprise is supposed to handle interactions between a shareholder and management .

Trying to bring EO into a discussion about Big Tech Censorship is a straight-up red herring. Yes, we all know that private companies are not subject to the First Amendment. Yes, we all know that companies can manage and operate their businesses as they see fit. And yes, we all know that Big Tech is censoring conservative speech and ideology that does not conform to the liberal left.

The problem is when they selectively enforce the rules. How many BLM rioters posted stuff on Twitter and FB. They took over a damn police station for weeks. When these companies get together to knock Parler off the internet because a few people posted about violence before Parler removed those posts has nothing to do with enforcing the rules. On the day of the capitol hill protest, hang Pence was trending at 90 percent or something like that on Twitter. I don't see anyone knocking Twitter off their platform.

Twitter and Facebook are basically monopolies operating under the shelter of Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act, which protects them from the liabilities of being a publisher. They can moderate content as they see fit, but in doing so they promote liberal political and social viewpoints while silencing and censoring opposing views of conservatives. Now that the election is over they're canceling conservative accounts completely for no reason at all.

Of course in a free market you would think that users could just move to another site like Parler, which users did in droves and we know what happened next. Amazon Web Services cancelled Parler's contract for servers and put them out of business. It must be coincidence that AWS also provides web services for Twitter.

So are Twitter and Facebook forums or publishers? They obviously aren't going to allow a free exchange of ideas or open discussions and users sign up knowing that. But for them to have the power to shut down their competition opens another can of legal worms. Ironically, before the election both Biden and Trump wanted Section 230 reformed. Now Biden seems to see it differently.

Don't allow your site to be used as a hot bed to plot/incite violent insurrection, political assassinations, or domestic terrorism and you probably won't get shut down.
