Taxpayer money to foreign mosques

I'd ask what are they thinking but since these FOOLS obviously have NO BRAINS they aren't thinking. Before anyone bothers to say anything about what a small amount this is in the grand scheme of things, don't bother. Before anyone tries to say anything to justify this in any way, don't bother. If you don't see this as 100% wrong there is something wrong with you and your view point is wrong. Oh, and before you bother to say I'm phobic of Muslims don't bother. This would be just as wrong if it were taxpayer money to restore cathedrals, temples, synagogues, churches or anything else.

Interesting ... so the greek orthdox church at the WTC site should not get a dime of taxpayer's money, right?

Yep, that is right. They should be allowed to build what they like on the land that they had. ALL land at "ground zero" should be returned the the rightful owner to rebuild as they please. Same with the field in PA.

If it was there before the attack and is being restored to the way it was before the attack then maybe it should get some assistance since it is in the USA. The example I gave was all foreign venues and no taxpayer money should be used for foreign sources for anything. We are broke. We can't afford it.

Well actually it is not the place of the US or state or local government to put in one single penny to help rebuild any house of worship - I draw this line because we can't have a nativity scene on the city hall property but we can open congress with a pray service. We have diluted our principles when it comes to religion so they can fit the needs of some while not others.

As for foriegn aid, there is an issue about foreign aid that you and others seem to miss - it is used as a political tool to gain leverage and many times it is without strings attached to garner that leverage. IF we start telling Egypt that they can't use some of the money to support religious activities, we will lose them as a friendly country to any of our causes or actions because they are a religious based society. Turkey is another and so is Israel.

Who cares if they are friendly now? If we cannot supply them with money their friendship will end. Most, if not all, of those few you mentioned would stab us in the back in a heartbeat if it suited their needs.

I don't read every thread in every forum as there's too many to read every word. I do actually have a life away from EO contrary to what some might think and do spend time on a few other forums, immersed in a good book, studying inner eyelids during a nap and a few other pursuits. Oh yeah, once in a while I haul a little freight too. :D
