How idiotic is that? Pretty soon they're going to do away with old wives...cuz we use the old wives remedies...sheesh!

I have a tequila plant that looks very much like the aloe plant..wonder if that would work? *LOL*

This is a parody, like the Onion, right?
Because if aloe is a controlled substance, I know a lot of inadvertent 'druggies' who keep it in their kitchens for minor burns. I'd keep one growing in the truck if I could - it works.

Cheri are you implying that a website with a news headline stating "Female broomball champs also excellent housekeepers" is parody?

Aloe

Taking aloe internally may cause dangerous interactions with prescription drugs and with other herbal supplements. Aloe injections are dangerous, illegal in the United States, and have caused the deaths of several people.

I didn't see that headline, lol - couldn't see anything but the name of the 'paper', no way to tell if it was satirical. These days, it can be hard to tell reality from satire.

Hand Sanitizer Seized by Federal Agents

Historical usesAloin was the common ingredient in Over-the-counter drug (OTC) laxative products in the United States prior to 2003, when the Food and Drug Administration ruled that aloin was a class III ingredient, therefore banning its use.[68] It should be noted that processed aloe that contains aloin is used primarily as a laxative, whereas processed aloe vera juice that does not contain significant amounts of aloin is used as a digestive healer. Manufacturers commonly remove aloin in processing due to the FDA ruling.

I know you didn't post it as a joke but if someone wants to see what the use of the FDA is, look at how they classify things and why.
