As horrible as Clinton was, and though he seemed like an incredibly repressive monster at the time, remember how much freer we felt? No Gestapo in the airports, no VIPR teams stopping us on the highways, no arbitrary no-fly list (which has doubled in size since the Obammunist took orifice), no illegal-legal indefinite detention, no concept of killing Americans without trial on the sole say-so of the executive branch... the list could go on.

How far we have fallen! It's 1938 in America, only the roles have shifted, and most people applaud the changes. We wonder how this could have happened in Germany, how a free people could react to a demagogue by allowing their nation to become aggressive abroad and repressive at home. Wonder no more; just read the papers in America.

We know who all that describes, right? And while it happens, the D12 cheers. And if you denounce it, you'll get messages that say, "Hey, my wife is a cop!" or, "You must have been in trouble with the law and now you just hate cops."

Yeap Eddie, those "Founding Dads", pretty much had things pegged as to what would go on in the Republic that they gave us if we weren't careful to protect it from the "Enemy Within"....If people took the time to read the "Federalist Papers (lol,most have no idea what they are) they would see alot more of what ideals and why the did things as they did and how they worked to make sure it was the People that were in charge and not the Elected Government..... But yea that Ole "Declaration of Independence" along with most all of our founding documents certainly shows us where we are because of what we have let go of...

You know me better than that, Chef. I'm saying that the feral gummint considers anyone who believes that they're violating our rights to be what the dullard W used to call "terrace." They've said so in just so many words. Anybody referring to our founding documents, implying that the feral gummint is the bad guy, a la King George, is likely to end up on such a list.

I know no one cares about this but by just repeating words without the context they were written in - both time and attitude - much is missed and much more can't be understood.

Our great country became a mess in 1860, when a president was elected threw out the entire meaning of those words and charted a course of a European style federally controlled empire. We went from freemen to enslaved populace within the few years of his election and after the bloodiest war in our history continued the devastation of the founding fathers basic principles and concepts of self-governing people which allowed a person like Lincoln to be elected several times in our history.

When we look around today, we don't see the basic human rights that we were given by our creator, we see rights given by men in government to us. In the last 10 years, we have lost more of those rights, some of which are judicially removed from our lives for the purpose of controlling the citizens while others are to exert more control from the Federal Government. The end game in the founding father's world wasn't to have courts legislate from the bench but to have the people to decide what way they wanted to go.

As pointed out in another thread, no one administration has immunity in trying to find ways to limit or remove rights from the citizens, the last administration may have been the worst we have seen in the past half century, all in the name of security. This started in 1860, when that Illinois lawyer got elected.

So it is up to the people to wake up, to figure out that the game playing that both major parties are engaged with is just about the same, no difference between the fundamental ideology that is driving them.

What IF: we got up one morning and did not go to work and just occupy our homes,omy. Now thats a concept. No one in Washington is listening to us anyway, so go radical, what have we got to lose? Of course no violence please, just stay home or call in sick.

Good idea, nothing will happen. The majority of american's don't care. They get their freebies and clamor for more. Fewer and fewer american's believe that they should accept responsibility for their own success and failures. Fewer and fewer american's are willing to accept responsibility for even the most basic areas of their lives, food, health care and housing. Far too many are content to be 'cared for' by a kind government.

As this trend continues American's, those who still look forward to the challenges of life, are being stripped of their earnings. The 'kind government' takes what they earn, gives it to those who for the most part refuse to support their lives, making it far more difficult to provide for their own lives. Why would a 'kind government' partake is such evil? To eliminate the power that one gains from self reliance and make american's out of everyone.

The motto of this 'kind government'?

Divide, Conquer, RULE!

What if we actually take responsibility for our government and the problems it has created.

Then we would all have to admit that we did not pay attention. Then nothing would change. It is past the point where we can take back control.
