I just want to say that I am sorry for "Ragging" on Turtle in that "other" Post.
I don't play "word" games very well on that subject. It was and is far to "real" for me. It is not a history subject or a subject for "discussion". All my friends who died in that "quest" are REALLY dead. They died fighting an EVIL that is still with us. It lives today in Russia, Iran, China, North Korea and I fear, and believe, in many of our national level polititions.
You are all welcome to be "scared" of me, or "ridicule" me or what ever. I know that you all don't feel like that, but enough do. So be it. We all did what we did so you could.
I live my life by a Code of Honor. That will never change. I live and might die by that Code. Many before me have and many other today are dying by that Code.
The lyrics of two songs sum up my life better than anything. They may explain things.
The Impossible Dream (The Code)
To dream ... the impossible dream ...
To fight ... the unbeatable foe ...
To bear ... with unbearable sorrow ...
To run ... where the brave dare not go ...
To right ... the unrightable wrong ...
To love ... pure and chaste from afar ...
To try ... when your arms are too weary ...
To reach ... the unreachable star ...
This is my quest, to follow that star ...
No matter how hopeless, no matter how far ...
To fight for the right, without question or pause ...
To be willing to march into Hell, for a Heavenly cause ...
And I know if I'll only be true, to this glorious quest,
That my heart will lie will lie peaceful and calm,
when I'm laid to my rest ...
And the world will be better for this:
That one man, scorned and covered with scars,
Still strove, with his last ounce of courage,
To reach ... the unreachable star ...
Try to Remember (The dream I wish for)
Try to remember the kind of September
When life was slow and oh, so mellow.
Try to remember the kind of September
When grass was green and grain was yellow.
Try to remember the kind of September
When you were a tender and callow fellow.
Try to remember, and if you remember,
Then follow.
Follow, follow, follow, follow, follow,
Follow, follow, follow, follow.
Try to remember when life was so tender
That no one wept except the willow.
Try to remember when life was so tender
That dreams were kept beside your pillow.
Try to remember when life was so tender
That love was an ember about to billow.
Try to remember, and if you remember,
Then follow.
Follow, follow, follow, follow, follow,
Follow, follow, follow, follow.
Follow, follow, follow, follow, follow,
Follow, follow, follow, follow.
Follow, follow, follow, follow, follow,
Follow, follow, follow, follow.
Deep in December, it's nice to remember,
Although you know the snow will follow.
Deep in December, it's nice to remember,
Without a hurt the heart is hollow.
Deep in December, it's nice to remember,
The fire of September that made us mellow.
Deep in December, our hearts should remember
And follow.
Sorry Turtle,
Try to understand.
