There's a new "Missing Elderly" alert in Texas. This elderly man is dangerous. Do not be fooled by his affable manner. Talks a good game. Claims to be a Republican. Been pulling this con for years.

To believe that, you'd have to be a [personal attack deleted].

Ron Paul is the only decent man in Washington. You want to be free? He's your only hope. It's him or despotism in this country.

Further, as Ronald Reagan said during his reelection campaign, "The Democrats have gone so far left, they've left America." That was true then. But now, the Demon-crats have gone even farther left, and the GOP is now where the Demon-crats were then. Only Ron Paul hasn't moved. If being a republican is more than membership in a party, if it's a set of ideals, who is pretending to be a republican/Republican, the guy who still believes in Republican principles, or the socialist RINOS who now believe what the Demon-crats of 30 years ago believed?

Your statements are ludicrous.

Monger,

Never underestimate the desire of the weak and terrified (state and media) to be "taken care of" and "protected" by the nanny state .... these are not the "rugged individualists" that our forebearers were .... so how will they ever possibly survive, unless Big Daddy Sugar is there with his tender embrace ? :D

When I first saw this thread, before any replies had been posted, I couldn't figure out if it should have been posted into The Loading Dock (as a joke), and was posted here by mistake, or if it was indeed posted into The Soapbox on purpose (as a troll). As a Loading Dock joke, it's somewhat efforted, but amusing. As a troll, it offers no talking points for discussion, and only invites responses aimed at the poster, rather than the post.

Here's a guy who wonders, "I don't understand why folks work themselves into a lather over Ron Paul. He has no chance of winning the GOP nomination..." yet he himself is all worked up into a lather over Ron Paul. I think everyone needs a shower.

What to dooooo, what to do.

Of course it's a joke. A political joke. Ron Paul lends himself very easily to satire. To suggest trolling is riduclous. Ron Paul supporters need to get over themselves. Every candidate gets lampooned. What to do? Indeed. Are we going to shut down political satire? Or just Ron Paul satire?

So do you, which I why I posted the political satire above. I had hoped the "shower" crack (all lathered up, get it? shower?) would suggested satire. But nooooooo, you wanna get all mad, instead. pffft. OK, fine.

To suggest trolling is riduclous.
Which is why I suggested it. Now I'm wondering if I was ironically and unwittingly somehow correct. Mee thinks thee doth protest too much. Then again, that's one of the benefits of black and white text on a forum page being lost in translation. It happens. Note that I stated, "...and only invites responses aimed at the poster, rather than the post" specifically to try and prevent that very thing. I gotchyer back, bro.

Ron Paul supporters need to get over themselves.
So do Ron Paul haters.

I think we need to shut down people who have no sense of humor. Do you really believe I was using the forums to think out loud the quandary of "What to dooooo, what to do?" No, I'd have just gone and done it, whatever it is.

I'll go ahead and say that this thread borders on trolling (because sardony was used, rather than satire) and RLENT's posts regarding Paul are approaching SPAMming (because of the shear mind-numbing quantity of bold and italicized words). What to dooooo, what to do, indeed, indeed. :D

Back to our regularly scheduled finger painting.

"Battered baby. Tastes like chicken." I still think that's funny.

I would caution everyone not to invest their emotions too heavily in any politician. Even the ones we revere. These politicians are probably not as bad as we think nor as good as we think. They are a work in progress just as we all are.

Trivia note: At Art Bell's request, Ron Paul once played as the body-double of a ninety year-old corpse. No makeup required.

I couldn't agree more. No one, especially a politician, is as perfect or as despicable as people make them out to be.

I got a lot of crap over the "tastes like chicken" joke. Apparently, people thought I was actually deep-frying babies or something.

I do like veal, tho. :D

Veal is awesome! :D

Aristotle, I will go out on a limb here, and say it's not about getting too emotionally invested in Dr Paul. It's about the idea of liberty that's got us. Dr Paul is the only one pushing the idea.

On Leno, the other night, Paul was asked who his favorite president is. His answer? Cleveland. I about crapped myself, cause he is one of mine as well. Mr "can't sign that bill cause it's not in the Constitution" Cleveland! THAT'S how this crap is supposed to work!

BTW, I thought that satire on his age was funny. Tacky, but funny. Kinda like battered baby. :D

It would be easier to take things as a joke I'd both the media and his own party weren't sabotaging him. Absent those, I'd probably laugh at geezer jokes, too.

The GOP candidates are sabotaging each other, adding to the stuff thrown at them by the biased MSM. Cain has already dropped out because of the alleged and unfounded bimbo eruptions, Bachmann is ridiculed on a daily basis and Gingrich is savaged in the media every day - mostly by Ron Paul (in Iowa). If Paul is going to run with the big dogs, he and his supporters are going to have to learn to deal with the scrutiny. These guys are playing for all the marbles, and there's no reason he should be immune from criticism and attacks like the other candidates have to endure.

It's definitely hardball politics - one would hope that it's at least clean.

I'm afraid that before it's all over it will get very dirty though - way too much at stake for the M-I-C ....

Pilgrim,

You're absolutely entirely right on this (I'm working on growing a thicker skin )

My apologies for my past indiscretions directed your way :(

There's a difference between scrutiny and attacks. Marginilization has eliminated most legitimate scrutiny so far, leaving only attacks.

Well if that's the case, Dr. Paul is your man !

See here's how it works:

There's probably some of them fellers you call a Rag#@& in far off land where we have troops .... he's just a farmer ..... he might have a wife ... a couple of kids .... or a brother ... mom .... dad .....

Now, think about this: what if him and his family are all sitting around at home some night, eatin' dinner ..... or maybe they've already ate and went bed ....

Then a squad of about 10 of our guys shows up, breaks down their door, all **** breaks loose .... the wife and one of the kids gets shot dead .... he's wounded, but he'll live ...

Sorry .... it was a mistake - wrong house ....

Imagine how he might feel about that .....

Now imagine how you might feel about that if you were him ....

Dr. Paul will bring our troops home - so that we can defend our nation ..... instead of just creating more folks that want to attack it.
