Reefer is still down

Do you own the thing?

If not maybe it is time to just ask for a replacement. With the amount of reefers on the used equipment market, finding one is not a problem.

AND I would not even consider the compressor as a problem, it sounds like a probe or control module problem (and related wiring) because there really is anything left out of the two, the unit works on sensing pressure and/or temperature and is all controlled by the control module.

Is it a Multi-Temp unit?
Have they checked the temp sensor and its wiring harness in the trailer?
Sounds to me that this sensor which sends a temp reading to the computer which instructs the engine/compressor to heat or cool is bad. Depending on age of unit it may have worn away the insulation on a wire and it shorted out. Especially since it is hanging @ 40* it tells me that the sensor is sending a set signal and it is bad.

ok ICE, let me put it another way,you still working for the same guy, cause if it were me,and the money you have made him,he should be getting you another trailer, and as far as pulling a dry van,ill put my revenue up with most of the Er units

Dump the reefer! They're a pain in the ***. I'm making more $$$$ with my stepdeck than I ever did with my reefer trailer. Or do like Night told me, pull a company owned 53' dry van. He seemed to be doing better with that than I did with a 48' liftgate equiped reefer!

Shelfishness is always a problem, when you're dealing with shrimps, eh? ;)

I thought you were making all this money with the Fed? How much is a reefer trailer? If it was such a big deal, get a trailer and work out more of a percentage in your contract.
