If you are using a GPS that connects to your computer for updates (like Garmin) then check out this website. It will add Points of Interest (POI) as you select the files.
For instance, we added truck stops to our POI so they are more easily found. You can select certain restaurants, rest areas, airports among many other points of interest. This is an amazing site with a lot of information. One other thing, though, don't forget - your GPS has a small hard drive so you will need to pick carefully which of the files you want to add. You obviously can't add them all. You might want to try a few of them to see how it works then go back and add different ones.
