ok whats in Council Bluffs Ia anyways??

i took a load from rock island ILL to the Sioux city area of Ia.. well just south to the power plant there.......... but only with extra $$ to get out of the area... soooo i camped out in Coucil Bluff last night..... and now getting ready to head?? well ..... thought of kansas city..... but heading back east to ILL sounds a bit better to me.........
what do ya'll think???

also ya know.... i would of thought this area would be a lil bigger on some Native american things...... i like that kinda of stuff....
i know there is the Strugis weekend up north of here...... but im not going there... would be nice to hang out there for the weekend with all the biker folks.... lol
anyways........... going run into this Mc donalds here for coffee... then head on down the road. will peek in here 1st...... ha

In the last 2 years I had better luck out of the Omaha area, than Kansas City. There is a Ford and GM plant in the KC area, so there are a lot of inbound trucks.

Well there is Taco Johns..Nice Casino sometimes a good act comes in. I would skip Kansas City myself. I got stuck there in a van along with plenty of other box trucks.. I usally do pretty good heading to Des Moines there...The Bandag plant in Boone Iowa usally has a load or two going to John Dear in Waterloo. Pays for your fuel to Chicago to get a good load. There are two Indian Casinos North of you there not to far I quess..Casino Omaha on the Omaha Res and Winnavegas south of the Sewer I meant Sioux City on the Winnabago res..Cheap smokes can be found food not to bad. I use to live out there ...still get nightmares

Morningstar55ny, You mentioned Native American. If you are ever lucky enough to get in the Bismarch Nd. area and you have some time, stop into FiveNations Art. They are in a little place called Mandan, Nd. It is a museum and store all wrapped up as one. Everything they have is Native American made and they have some great things to see and purchase. They have never forgot that the customer is the reason they are there. They will make you feel like one of the family.

Metroplus IL is a DH but U can get a good load to WV from there.

Iam stuck in Phoenix AZ my self and I have a less than 75 and nothing. Only one load for the week that was it.

Im 319 outa vegas and 329 outa Ontario Ca and I guess about 849 outa sweet water Texas.

Im about ready to call a spade a spade and head East.

as Im getting bled dry out here.

That I woke up after a long dream and I was surrounded by cornfields and it was 100 plus degrees....So I get in my van
and head down the road.......Then I smell it like O God I am going back to this dump of town that smells..like like human waste on the main drag...
After I get past the water treatment plant across from the baseball park out by the mall....The dream is getting worse...CHEEESE it smells like --it...My God what is that horrible odor? I stop at the light and ask this guy in a pick up truck what it is and says..Dat dere is smell of money right downtown...thats the John Morrel plant 2000 head of hogs a day. I said how do you escape it again he replies thats the smell of money... One or two families and their big corporations are making a fortune paying these illegals their wages of $8.50 per hour..Hell they use to pay us that back in the 70s and early 80s.We just roll over and let them drop wages and standard of living here....

I can escape and go across the river to Nebraska...South Sioux City....Wait almost all the sighns are written in Spanish..I stop and ask another Pick Up driver at the light..What town is this? He says South Sioux City Nb..Population 13000.. I said what happend to all the businesses and sighns its all in spanish?
He said well when IBP/ Tyson busted up the union back in the mid 80s they brought all kinds of illegals and riff raff to do it...Were kinda stuck with them...But the crime and trash they leave all over were getting use to it.. We just let IBP/Tyson roll us over and put our heads back in the grass like sheeple do..
I am thinking this is dream and wind shifts and that horrendous smell of money comes back...but this time its not hog, its cattle.....Yep the guy says they do 4000 head per day for starting pay at $7.50 per hour to top pay about $11.50. We made that back in the 70s and 80s but us sheeple layed down and took it...I can see the rest of the country turning out like Iowa and Nebraska,,,this diversity is great isn't it?
I put my van back in drive go across I20 bridge back to Iowa see I29 south to Omaha Council Bluffs and floor it all the way there..I see I 80 east great.....Fill up at Pilot and exit 2 and floor to IL...
Wew what a nightmare calm down its over...The rest of the country has about another 20 years to get this way....

Nothing wrong with Council Bluffs. Omaha and Lincoln to the west; Souix Falls, SD to the north; KC to the south; and Des Moines to the east. When one of those places doesn't have the trucks, I'll bet you get the call. My guess... Vermillion, SD.

Vermillion is a real nice area....Gavins point thing that keeps water holed up. **** is censerored and the fishing/boating oppertunities are all over.Miss some parts of that area.
I really like Sioux Falls to..Real happening town.Relatively safe and inexpensive always growing..Not like Sioux City always dieing
From Vermillion you can stop in Gayville and soak up some Sd history. Wild Bill stopped there plenty of times..Among others
Yankton was the first capital of Sd. Ever Watch HBO Deadwood?
They are costantly talking about Yankton and Gayville..
Yankton is good area too.. After I get rich from Expeditiing I was thinking about getting a summer home up in Britain Sd. Good friend lives there and its very cheap.
Have a house in East Tenn for the winter.

i was thru davenport ia a while back and there was an npr news item about a native american named park in rock island.i think there was some historical attachment to the park sorry but can't be clearer anyway once you get to chgo you will get a quick load out.
