Obama whines ALOT!

Shame on American voters in their 40's-70's who allowed this abomination to happen. The old and the young are increasingly beholden to the federal government for assistance. This is no accident. Self sufficiency and a strong work ethic built this nation. The Liberal promise of a nanny state is our undoing. Government is not the solution. This government will not much longer enjoy popular support of the people. There is a huge crisis of confidence coming and I welcome the tumult.

You may be right, but it's hard to take seriously the views of someone who hides behind the persona of an ancient philosopher.

There are complicated and historical reasons why the Constitution was ratified without the Bill of Rights. No document is perfect but our Constitution is about as close as it gets. Every problem can legally be fixed within it's confines. The problems arise when our politicians, like Obama, go out of their way to get around it and impose their wishes on everyone through unconstitutional means.

Again one man's whining is another man's legitimate complaint.

LRE.. you know very well I come from the coalfields of Appalachia. I have had the benefit of a good education and a loving family. The views I express are my own. I am very alarmed by the direction of our government. If enough like-minded citizens care passionately about this country, we can hope for its rebirth in our lifetime. I suspect you are concerned as well.

It can be equally as difficult to take seriously the views of someone who would belittle, ridicule or lampoon a man's personal beliefs just because that person might not believe in or understand them. Most swords have two edges.

The TEA PARTY is Americans rising up, and apparently its working because liberals are terrified of them. Im concerned for my daughter's future, what will America look like when shes grown. So I'm not whining I was simply pointing out a FACT about Obama. If people love Obama, fine. I was just stating that he whines ALOT and acts very childish, and he is almost always against the will of the American people, that is the TRUTH!

Equating what someone says, or to the validity of what they say, to their screen name is quite possibly the lamest discussion and debate tactic, ever.

It's "I know you are but what am I" Pee Wee Herman type stuff.

Sheesh.

It's simple. Letzrock said, to Aristotle...

You may be right, but it's hard to take seriously the views of someone who hides behind the persona of an ancient philosopher.

He's dismissing the validity of the views and opinions of Aristotle solely because of Aristotle's screen name.

Doing that is childish and immature, since the screen name has nothing whatsoever to do with what someone says. It's the last resort of someone who cannot discuss the issues at hand, and lowers the discussion to a personal level, and does so on a childish level. It's much like sticking your tongue out at someone when you've got nothing else to say. It's like having nothing else to contribute to a discussion or argument, but you want to win or get back at the other person, so you reduce it to the level of, "Oh, yeah?! Well, you mother wears army boots!" as if saying that will totally demoralize and crush the other person to the point where they give up and you win.

If you don't know who Pee Wee Herman is, well, there's Google for that.

LRE never misses an opportunity to take a slap at me. And it comes from an individual well known for using multiple screen names. To think I extended an olive branch with hope LRE would conduct himself honorably. This is disappointing.

Well son of a bean picker, I thought that was what you meant!! I got one right for a change!! WHEW!! All I know about PeeWee Herman is that he does things in movie theaters. I tend not to pay attention to the entertainment world.

Please edify and amuse me with how I dismissed the views of the old coal miner. I was merely making an observation...

Sure. You said, "You may be right, but it's hard to take seriously the views of someone who hides behind the persona of an ancient philosopher."

Your statement can be interpreted in two ways. One, that Aristotle the Expediter really and truly hides behind the persona of Aristotle the Philosopher and thus expresses his opinions in the manner of the philosopher and therefore it becomes hard to take him seriously.

The other way to interpret that statement is that you are finding it hard to take Aristotle the Expediter's viewpoints seriously because of his screen name, and your use of the word "persona" is used incorrectly to simply mean his screen name.

Since he does not, in fact, post in the manner of the Aristotle the Philosopher and does, in fact, post his own views in his own way, then the first interpretation is clearly incorrect and the second interpretation would be the correct one.

Since the first interpretation is not the correct one, then by you saying it was "an observation" is, at the very least disingenuous. You said, "You may be right," which in and of itself gives validity to his viewpoints, but then you dismissed his validity completely, and did so for immature and illogical reasons with the rest of that sentence. No observation was made. "...but it's hard to take seriously the views of someone who hides behind the persona of an ancient philosopher," is a statement about yourself, not an observation.

So, you either dismiss the seriousness and validity of his statements because of his screen name, with the reason given, therefore if valid, being reason enough for others to dismiss them as well, or you personally have a hard time taking his viewpoints seriously for the same reason. Either way, you're dismissing his viewpoints. It's just that one way you're dismissing them yourself because it's hard for you to accept them, and the other way, by offering up a reason why others should think like you, you're encouraging others to dismiss them as well.

Now, it could also be that you have a disagreement with the philosophy of Aristotle the Philosopher which has created a personal bias or prejudice to anything you read that is attached to the name "Aristotle", and that's why you personally find it hard to take Aristotle the Expediter's comments seriously. If that's the case, then you should have made yourself more clear by actually stating as much. But, I feel this is the least likely explanation for why someone's screen name could possibly have anything to do with the content, seriousness or validity of what they post.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got to go find a good rock to sun myself on.

LRE... I've had enough of your stalking and baiting. Stop acting like a foolish child. It's obvious you don't care for my conservative leanings. There's no reason to attack me personally simply because we disagree. If you don't like what I have to say, then ignore my posts. Avail yourself of thr "IGNORE" function provided by EO. I am placing you on the "IGNORE' list as a courtesy. That's a ton more courtesy and respect than you've shown me.

Now, for something truly meaningful: Obama whines ALOT!
