Newbie Needs Advice

I am a driver based out of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

I recently purchased a 2008 Ford E-350 cargo van. I have 1 million dollar liability limit insurance and $10,000 cargo insurance.

I passed my DOT physical, have a Class D license and clean driving record.

I can't wait to start hauling loads. Please advise.

Thanks.

Mark

You weren't ready to haul freight before you bought it?

That's putting the cart before the horse, isn't it?

Notanewbie,

I just wanted some advice. I have loads now.

You don't have to prove that you're a veteran by ridiculing others.

Best of luck,

Mark

You really need to be more specific on what type of advise your looking for. You left it wide open and nan statement was legit based on info in the op. If your more specific then you will get more specific answers.

My advice based on the op would be to sign on with an expedite company and gain some experience in the industry.

And I certainly meant no offense ... just seemed a bad business model.

And I am guilty of making many, many bad business decisions to get where I was ..... and now I retired .... here I sit like a Monday morning quaterback ..... hindsight is always 20/20 .... but for those looking forward, a lot can learned here .... do's and dont's are pretty consistent, no matter the carrier, or the equipment size.

Ok, here's some genuine advice: resist the impulse to respond to a legitimate question with a defensive attitude. It wasn't ridicule - it was exactly what any experienced expediter would have asked, and a person wanting advice from those people would have wanted to know WHY the question was asked. Since you didn't ask, you still [apparently] don't know why it matters.
Best of luck to you, too.
