First off conservitive does NOT mean never changing. Second, it makes NO difference to me what Spain, Italy or Canada wants to do. Their way of life is what THEY want, Ours is ours. It does NOT mean it is better, just OURS!! Many of us are NOT willing to live under "RULE" as Europe has done for ions. We LIKE a bit loose. The challenge making it on your own. ANY bum can be taken care of. ONLY the BEST can make it on their own. Too bad that the BUMS seem to be in the majority now. Lazy is a waste of life. Only lazy accepts socialism. Socialism assumes that you are not capable to make it without the help of a benevolent government.

No not really Hawk...I read a definition of how a conservative doesn't like change...and took it a step further....

I wish sometimes this was a more international site so there'd be more opinion from other countries so I wouldn't get slammed so much....I guess being the only Canadian in here...I am at a disadvantage... As I can see America from a different angle....perspective lets say....not badly either, just different.

If there was say an Italian in here and a Spaniard and a Brit...they'd say their country is the greatest...it is to be expected...we all have country pride and that is a good thing...:)

Funny you mention that. The first question I answered on yahoo answers pertained to Europeans' view of the US. You wouldn't believe the crap they said. I answered with the typical "If it weren't for us you'd all be speaking German", and one had the nerve to blame us for WW2, because if we kept our nose out of WW1, Hitler would've never come to power. Umm... we were asked to enter WW1, just as we were WW2. But anyway, yahoo is full of know-nothing teenagers anyway.

-------------------------------------------------------------

A teacher asked three students: a Jewish, an Irish, and an Italian kid where their fathers would hide a bike as the childrens' holiday gift.

The Jewish kid said, "In the attic, cause that's where the antiques are, and I'm not allowed up there."

The Irish kid said, "In the basement, cause that's where the liquor is, and I'm not allowed in the basement."

The Italian kid said, "In his pants."

"In his pants?", the teacher asked.

"Yeah. He'd tell me <grabbing his package>, 'I got your bike right here!'"

:D

The government has always taken care of its peoples....it ensures your freedom.thru a strong military..it ensures you have food on the table by trading with other countries and it does this thru the people...

AND THAT is where it should end too. As to our food, our government only regulates the trade, somewhat, private industry does the actual trading. As to the strong military, it used to be. You are correct, it is all done thru, and only WITH, the consent of the People, as least for now. That IS how it should be.

You got that right!! And I just got my "in your face
tank re-filled at the Alamo!! REAL MEN!! REAL AMERICANS!! My kind of IN YOUR FACE GUYS!! The Kingston Trio have a Great version of the song below. It really FIRES UP THE BLOOD!

A hundred and eighty were challenged by Travis to die. A line that he drew with his sword when the battle was nigh. The man who would fight to the death cross over but he who that would live better fly, And over the line stepped a hundred and seventy-nine.

Hi! Up! Santa Anna, we're killing your soldiers below, so the rest of Texas will know and remember the Alamo!

Jim Bowie lay dyin', his powder was ready and dry. From flat on his back, Bowie killed him a few in reply, And young Davy Crockett was smilin' and laughin'. The challenge was fierce in his eye. For Texas and freedom, a man more than willin' to die.

Hi! Up! Santa Anna, we're killing your soldiers below, so the rest of Texas will know and remember the Alamo!

A courier sent to the battlements, bloody and loud. With words of fare well in the letters he carried were proud. Grieve not, little darlin', my dyin' if Texas is sovereign and free. We'll never surrender and ever will liberty be!

Hi! Up! Santa Anna, we're killing your soldiers below, so the rest of Texas will know and remember the Alamo!

Remember the Alamo! Remember the Alamo! Remember the Alamo!

There is no saving grace to the drivel that pass's as attacks on one of the most important Presidents our country ever had.Thank God he is around to remind the world not all Americans were brain dead enough to cast two votes for w.Now there's a lieing ******* who we could not send to Denmark to check on rotting cheese.Bill will always be respected by those with a brain and not a big belt buckle. The BB crowd are well known here and around the world for their support of bozo, fortuanatly they represent nothing but chatter in the back ground these days. The humble minions of another time.

American citizens have the right,a constititional right,to a free and open press. Reporters who are trying to get the story right sometimes risk it all to bring it home.Having Bill avaialable and willing to put on a two hour puppet show to bring these two brave women home has zero to do with his bad choice in a private matter.
Greg, some people don't know their *** from a hot rock. It's just always been that way,and always will be.As our country continues to heal from the nightmare of all the two vote Charlies who all but destroyed our Republic,I'm reminded of the now famous prediction by Dick Dick the VEEP that we would be greeted at the gates of Bagdad with open arms and offerings of 17 virgins.
Thank God for Bill and all who can recognize true leadership qualities and have long forgiven a personal indescetion. For the BB crowd Sara and Jeb Bush welcome you with open arms to their shindig.Hope you all get on very well together.

Never again folks,never again.

Andy,
I agree with you 100% with this. I stand by that 100% but the problem is we don't have a free and open press.

The press was not intended to be what it is today but a system where any citizen can freely express and communicate by any means. Today we have a press that is an insitution, just like Slavery was and community activism is. There is nothing that hurts our country more than to have people complain within the insitution that it is being harmed by the citizens who are using new means to communicate. Therer have been numerous calls for the government to step in and stop this activity, people like Brian Williams, Cronkite, Shiefer and even Couric who have been vocal about the damage the citizen journalst have done.

See Andy these journalist, the people who want to change the world think of themselves as above the citizen, the first amendement is interpeted that the press is protected to disclose informaiton while the citizen isn't afforded that protection - this was not how the amendment was written or intended to be used.

Reporters who are trying to get the story right sometimes risk it all to bring it home.

I would agree with you if this thread was about a different situation, like reporters who were reporting on troops in Iraq or Africa where terrorist were planning on Killing more Americans. But these reporters were doing illegal things that we ourselves have problems with and not to help the country, any citizen or issues we face. They knew what they were doing, they and their supporters felt that they were too important but worst of all they are connected to a politically motivated individual who has had a campaign of misinformaiton and made millions off of it.

Having Bill avaialable and willing to put on a two hour puppet show to bring these two brave women home has zero to do with his bad choice in a private matter.

Well I don't agrree. first these people were no bravver than the guy who pays his electric bill, they thought they would get away with something and didn't.

Bill taking time to do a two hour puppet show raises a lot of qwuestions of where our priorities are. We have a number of kidnapped citizens around the world, and even more so a number of citizens who are jailed in foreign countries, but we focus on two individuals who should be put on a list at the state department like everyone else. Like I said maybe he would do the country some good by traveling to Mexico city and seeing what he can do there.

I would agree with you on the white house issue has nothing to do with this but he assumed that position as president and he has no privacy and never should. But don't forget, he did this to showup Hillary.
