More wasted Tax Payer Dollars for the Census

Todays Mail I Received a Post Card from the U.S.Census Bureau Reminding me that I should have Received a Request to Participate in the 2010 Census. It said It Is Important that I Respond, And If I Have already Responded to Please Accept their Sincere Thanks Along with Some Other Garbage! Did Obumma Print some More Worthless Money to Pay for all these Mailings?

I got a two letters in the mail in Arabic and spanish explaining to me why I need to participate - a week after I sent in the questionnaire.

Just look at the mobile roving census workers promoting the census, they are multicultural group.

Yeah, I've Seen Em, I already Put a Note on my front door stating that if they are From The Jehovha Witness, Or The Census Bureau then to get off My Porch and Don't Bother Knocking!

There was a thing on the news (BBC) about that a little while back, where they talked about the millions it was costing to send out pre-reminders and post-reminders, but showed how it was far cheaper to do that than it was to send people out to canvas each dwelling.

If it saves Money, Great, I just don't want them Knocking on my door Bothering me seeings that I had already sent my forms back in, Even though they are Not going to Like my Answers!

Hey I just got two post cards in the mail reminding me that the census is the law.

Wife just told me that today we got 2 post cards also, and she sent the thing back last week!!

I read that in the 2000 census, that all of their mailings and advertisings actually saved them 205 million. However, this years campaign is apparently not working as well. As of yesterday only 20% had returned their forms.

The census is easy to do, you hire people who want to receive unemployment and welfare do the work, saving millions and millions of dollars. No post cards being sent in five different languages, no flyers, no billboards with stupid poor english on them and no follow up post cards (I got 4 this week in three different languages) - just people hitting the pavement to fulfill the needs of the country.

No, Greg. It costs much less to mail than to have ppl go door to door.

Not if we are already paying them.

Between Unemployment and welfare, there should be enough people to cover the entire country with a multitude of people who speak different languages.

There is nothing wrong with it, earning the benefits first, then helping the country second.

Even if we take community service people (you know those with them federally funded student grants), then it would save us money.

Well Greg your idea is good but of course that isn't the way the govt works. They hire whoever and send them all over, never thinking about the best way to spend your tax dollars.
