Hmmm.. 1st the current admin beats up the bankers and tells them how they wll run their business, and refuses to let those that can repay the funds they like idiots took, but the white staff still runs the show illegally...

Then they take over control of chysler and threaten bond holds to mske a deal that is also illegal...

Now it appears they are beating up and making demands of federal judges..again illegally....

So goes the Chicago politics, but now on a grand scale:

Carefully orchestrated indeed

The bankruptcy judge hearing the Chrysler case said Friday he wasn't going to rule on the asset sale until today or Tuesday, but a call from the White House must have prompted him to move faster because he ruled in the wee hours of this morning.

See, the administration wanted to hold up Chrysler as an example of a "quick and speedy" bankruptcy, but Judge Arthur Gonzalez - deciding he needed more time to rule - put a crimp in those plans and left the White House looking at a GM filing today and Chrysler still in. Oops.

Remarkably, Gonzalez got all his work done just in time and filed his opinion after midnight to save the show.

I'm sure we'll hear today when questioned that the White House had nothing to do with that timing, just as we've heard that it is not making management decisions at GM or Chrysler

Wonder if the offered to break his leg?? Maybe run his hands over with a "pavement roller"..... no thats the Mafia......:D

Wait............nooooooo:rolleyes:

Hmmm the Detroit News is about as MSM as you get in the mid west...and with more and more traditional newspapers biting the dust as circulation goes in the bucket, you are going to see more and more of them going to internet blogs as a way to get the news out.....

OVM, you got it wrong, it is the Detroit News Blog which according to the UAW members surounding me, is a credible news source when it has something to do with the auto industry. :D

You're confusing Internet Blogs with news, just like you're confusing a Blog that is hosted on the Detroit News servers as being sanctioned news by the Detroit News.

A basic news story, even a highly biased one will at least include the verifyable Five W's of news: Who, What, When, Where, Why. A Blog does not. Manny's Blog contains Who, and What, and When, but the Where and Why are pure speculation on his part, no journalism needed. It's not news. That's why it's called a Blog.

They aren't using Blogs to "get the news out", they're using Blogs to get their opinions out, and because people read it on the Internet, they believe the opinion to be fact, ergo, news. It's not news. It's a Blog.

I stand corrected on the news journalism vs the blog and blogger as far as news verses opinion...

this blog is part of the the Detroit News and SANCATIONED by the Detroit News as this author also writes his articles in the same newspaper has such is offered as news as well as opinion..with that being said, which part of the article is wrong ???

And as for journalist following the rules of journalism anymore...pffft yea right....lol....

Turtle,
You are sort of wrong, it was written by the editor of the automotive section of the news and it is considered a legitimate news piece by the standards of the Detroit News. They use a 'blog' as another place to to put out the news, it is step up to the cutting edge of journalism just like they have used the forum they have to put out some news. This has been talked about on the radio here in the former home of the big three last year.
