Other day I ran across a little Red Truck when he pulled out of the fuel island at the TA he made a right turn when he did I herd a metalic poping sound. comming from the front end on his passanger side. Hmm. Notiably that truck was a Red KW straight truck. Speaking to my cousin about it he told me that what goes out on KWs and most notibely (unless the guy got a busted shock is the lower leaf spring bushings go bad. Said they are a u know what to pop out and replace, its eaiser to replace the whole front leaf spring & all the bushings.

Sometimes when a person thinks too hard, the brain gets over stimulated causing cranial pressure. The human body's safety valve is in the ear. The popping noise you heard was most likely pressure being release from your ears and not the lil red truck, despite what your cousin told you. Give your brain a rest and chew gum while you walk.

I bet it was a cab mount. Our one truck had the same sound. We had the shocks replaced and it made the same sound. I call my uncle who's been in the truck repair business for over 40 years. I told him what it was doing and he ask us to check the cab mount. Sure enough that's what it was.

After 95 they started using aluminum bushings on the springs. Those are now replaced with brass ones. Not too hard and not a expensive repair.
