Isn't this wrong?

In the past few weeks we have been hearing a lot about some political prisoner, Aung San Suu Kyi in some way off country called Myanmar.

The UN and a whole bunch of others are all up in arms about her house arrest of this "nobel prize winner", many here are not concern because we are facing more important things in life, like the collapse of our country.

Enter John Yettaw, a 53 year old Mormon from Falcon Missouri who decided seeing he was in the neighborhood to drop... I mean swim on by to see her. He swam across the Inya lake at her place of residence and forced his way to see her, staying for a few days. When he left by swimming across the Inya lake, he was arrested and the government of Myanmar charged him with trespassing. He was sentenced under their laws for this crime.

Now enter Senator Jim Webb of Virginia. He decided to play diplomat and cut out Hillary to help this American out, make a name for himself and promote a flawed political ideal - democracy. OK so he is not a constituent, so he did this while knowing that he can possibly get into trouble, and he was not shot or kidnapped or beaten just visiting the sights so what in h*ll is someone who should be representing Virginia doing helping someone who is from Missouri in a foreign country?

While our country is going down the toilet, we have senators and former presidents acting as they are junior Secretaries of State. It is like Carl Levin, he is more concern with the cabbies of DC than with the people of Michigan.

I dunno, Webb is the chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee's East Asia and Pacific Affairs Subcommitte, so he does have more areas of responsibility than just his home state. Maybe he's campaigning for an ambassador post to Myanmar.
