Insurance

I am an independent contractor, I have my own insurance and deliver goods for a company that receives them at their warehouse from shipper. They want me to list them as payee in the case of loss/damage cargo. My insurance company refused but didn't explain why. Shouldn't the company that receives the goods already have it insured? In case something does happen, they get the check and I get stuck paying a higher insurance premium. It seems a bit shady to me. Can somebody explain this to me?

It's called additionally insured it very standard, call your agent and tell them to do it, it costs nothing, if they refuse, your with the wrong company! Probably under insured as well. They also need to send them an accord, which is also standard. It's a form showing your limits and policy info, again it's free. I have 6 other companies on my policy right now.
