Indiana cuts DOT inspectors

Just talked to an ole buddy of mine for first time in five months. He lost his job as a DOT inpector two months ago. He told me nw Indiana had 18 inspectors and the state cut the staff to four. So the next time we hear about US drivers not being safe and caring about public safety from some idiot politican...they should have to answer to their budget cuts at the expense of public safety. As a side not, a trucker was arrested this morning on 69 in Fort Wayne for OWI and carry a hazmat load with no placards. Idiot feel asleep on an off ramp after hitting something and leaking his hazmat load on the road.....

Well sorry about him losing his job but he can apply in Michigan, our great state of denial got some sort of FMCSA grant and will be stepping up enforcement and inspections on all commercial vehicles as fast as possible to collect fines. Vans are on the list of inspections from what I read (over 5500 gvw crap) and they said they will be operating around and in rest areas, like the one on I75 north of Toledo. OH and before I forget the scales on I75 are going to reopening soon and heard they will turn off the pre-pass system to get every truck into the scales.

Gotta love these states using law enforcement as a revenue stream. What do you expect? With no choice in our elections, vote socialist or don't vote, that is what you are going to get.

What are the other reasons for raising taxes, other than to increase revenue?
