Has anyone noticed the effects we're STILL feeling from our last three Democrat presidents? Are we that stupid to elect one that'll make those three look like Goldwater in comparison?

Yes we are that stupid. That is the result of the indoctronation(education) in our public schools. A large percentage of teachers sorta lean to the left ( a lot of tilt ). Not to mention that MOST of our news people profess to be "liberial". More like communist. Layoutshooter

OK … I see what you are saying but here are the facts.
FDR has an affair with Lucy Mercer, which started almost 20 years before he was president. Eleanor knew about it and this gave her the permission to lead a different life and really didn’t fulfill the FDR’s needs according to a lot of biographies. Even FDR’s children knew about the affair and Lucy Mercer was there when he died, arranged a visit with FDR in Georgia by his daughter. Back then it wasn’t talked about, like FDR’s polio and his inability to keep his cabinet running smoothly. Even though he had a lot of enemies, remember he was the product of a time when it was common for men to have wives and mistresses at the same time.
JFK is a different situation altogether. Many knew he chased women, could not keep out of the bedroom but his father was the one who kept him in control until he made it to the WH. They had some special arrangement between the secret service, the AGs office and the FBI where he did what he wanted and they kind of kept a lid on things. Also again like FDR the press looked the other way when it came to the rumors but remember it was some of the secret service who was finding the girls who were supplied by sometimes organized crime. But the real issue was the FBI, Hoover was hated by RFK and he wanted to retire Hoover until one day Hoover appeared in the WH with a package containing a lot of information about JFK and his alter life. It was worked out that Hoover stayed and later on when JFK had an affair with Judith Campbell, Hoover told RFK that it didn’t look good for JFK seeing Campbell was also the girlfriend of Sam Giancana.
Neither FDR or JFK or anyone else for that matter were being put on trial for sexual harassment, only Clinton was and it was a justified move with the courts to allow it to move forward.
What really caused all the problems is Clinton lied when he was being disposed for the Paula Jones sexual harassment lawsuit and asked about Monica. He later settled with Paula Jones, not denying or confirming that he sexually harassed her. BUT the thing is Clinton was no JFK, JFK was a man of his times, what is considered to be something that was ok to do as the norm then is in no way ok to even consider now. Paula Jones was one of seven women who claimed Clinton had done something to them, form sexual harassment to rape in Juanita Broaddrick.
Whether or not he was a target of the GOP is irrelevant here, the movie you mentioned is just another propaganda film as far as I am concern because it takes the position that everyone is wrong but the person the movie is all about.
You guys kinda slipped into history lessons again....topic is of the Now and the future....history is just that history...

Clinton also didn't have the finesse of JFK or FDR. He was/is an arrogant, self-absorbed sexual predator who was/is used to getting away with anything. Hillary actually had a squad of personnel in charge of "bimbo eruptions" - remember that? However, JFK and FDR were never clumsy enough to get themselves in a situation where they were placed under oath to testify about their sexual dalliances. Under this circumstance it was proven that Clinton not only had the moral character of a stray cat, but also was a bald-faced liar even with his hand on the Bible. The idea that all this lascivity was his own "personal business" and had nothing to do with his job performance is just a lame rationalization promoted by the Clinton publicity machine and dutifully carried out by the mainstream media. Just the fact that this slimeball was getting his knob polished in the Oval Office should have been enough for impeachment and removal from office.
Keep in mind the hypocrasy of the media and the Democrats when comparing this situation with others in recent memory: (1) Remember Bob Livingston (R) LA? He was all set to become Speaker of the House succeeding Newt until it was discovered he had been having an extramarital affair. He was castigated in the press and had to withdraw his name. (2) More recently was Rudy Giulianni - remember all the flak he took from the Democrats and their lackeys in the press for having several divorces and affairs? That was certainly not considered his "personal business" not related to job performance in office. (3) What happened to Scooter Libby for lying under oath? Clinton's perjury was far more flagrant this Libby's.
My point is that if Clinton had been a Republican he would have been excoriated in the press and removed from office after the impeachment process. The congress would have been given ample cover and support from the media, and Clinton would have been disgraced worse than Nixon. Justifiably so, since his offenses were worse than those of Nixon to begin with - he was just given a pass by the media.

The point is... the blame game goes around like a merry-go round...never ending....both sides at a stalemate...time to discuss the now and future...history will always be there as a reminder of our fortunes and errors...

You are right OVM, this election is the BIGGY!!! Will we remain a capitolist country or finish going down the road to socialism? Will we be able to defend ourselfs or become an easy target? Will we decend into civil war? A second revolt? Will we remain somewhat free or live under someones thumb? You know where I stand. Let's cancel the election and skip having a president. Maybe then a couple of REAL candidates will come forward. Be sure to vote out EVERYONE who is in office today. Do that EVERY election for the next 50 years or so. OVM, we never know the future.
The past is very vital to the future. it is not repeating it that matters but preventing the very bad things from happening again.
We forgot 9/11 - period. There was another unifying moment in our history but again that is gone until another unifying moment. we forget it because of the importance of ignoring history by the masses.
This election is not about right or left but hate or love of a country - it is that simple at the same time very complicated.
We in fact have two rather very poor examples of American politics, a Marxist and a republican liberal - both lack the skills for leadership at the WH level and both have a very clear track record of what they stand for. Neither is worthy to hold office but one is being groomed for the job to ensconce power to the one's who hate the country - a revolution within the election.
History is a very important thing, for example we gage leadership by the events and actions of our leaders today against the leaders of our past. We can say FDR was a great leader or JFK was a great leader and visionary but both had their flaws. Like wise with leaders like Nixon and Hoover - both are vilified by the revised history of our country to be villains but a few can say that both are far better than what we have in both congress and are running today for president, which both would make a better president in todays situation than what is running.
Another point is that Reagan and the Pope actually worked to bring the end of the Soviet Union but the historians say it was Gorbachev that actually did the work - Wrong. Reagan is still vilified and the pope is ignored by most of the world but Grobie is made a hero.

Having taken a brief trip back in time with this thread, it should be all the more apparent to us that CHARACTER MATTERS. We should very carefully look at the scant record of Barack Hussein Obama and it doesn't take long to see that he associates with radical left-wingers, and confirms that mindset with his voting record in elective office. He has the most liberal voting record in the senate - even left of Kennedy and Kucinich. What's more, he lies about his record and changes his positions to accomodate the preferences of each audience to which he speaks. Listen to what his wife says, and to what his pastor of the past 20 years says; these two people closest to him will give you a true indicator of his moral compass, his guiding political philosophy, and his CHARACTER. This is an angry, weak, greedy rookie politician whose only redeeming quality is that of being able to parrot a good sales pitch. He is a gifted speaker, and like a Hollywood actor he can deliver prepared material in a convincing manner because of his God-given charisma. Does he have the intelligence and experience to be a strong leader? NO - so given his weaknesses, those who surround him become all the more important. All his decisions will be heavily influenced by if not altogether made for him by those in his inner circle if he is elected to the world's most powerful position. You can see by his past and present confidants who those people would be and what they would be like. Remember how the Clintons brought the Webb Hubbell and Craig Livingstone types with them from Arkansas? Just imagine what the cabinet and White House inner circle would look like with Barack Hussein Obama.
