I have to ask, why the ice makers??? wait, you put the ice i a rag and sit it on your head while driving!?!? :D

I could do that, and i have a "HAT" to cover it!!!:D

I have a 10,000 btu apu, it barely keeps this sleeper and cab cool if it is really hot and humid outside. This truck is not very well insulated and then there is all that glass, like a greenhouse. It takes more like 20 to 30,000 btu to cool this truck. :( I think that the truck ac is more around 20,000. Not to sure on that.

I use that same 12,000 btu unit and i am pretty sure that is the same one Steady Eddie has except he "may" ( i think but i am not for sure) has the model with the "heat strip on it also. I use a Honeywell 2000 watt generator to power it....now all i have to do is get some place that I will need it....lol i just got an extended range gas external gas tank for it and it is sitting on my deck running as i type this, the AC unit running in the kitchen and waiting to see how long it will run before it runs out of gas.....Dang i need a life....maybe ill go out back and watch the grss grow and the newly leveled ridge behind the house....:rolleyes: well at least we are leaving for FLA in the morning...."got my toes in the water got my azz in the sand.....":D
