They're backpedaling awfully fast. They say the government option isn't the foundation for health care reform, yet the government options is the only way the government can control the "spiraling costs" of health care. They have to get that option out there, then make it the better cheaper option, where they can get control of the health care dollar.

It's like the "death panels". No, there is nothing about "death panels" in any of the bills, but there is rationed health care in those bills, and the only way to ration health care is with a cost analysis based on life expectancy, expected productivity and other factors. It won't be called a "death panel" but it will operate exactly like one as part of the rationed health care. There is no way rationed health care can exist without it, and there is no way the government can control the "spiraling costs" of health care without rationing it.

Another one is computer assisted diagnosis and treatment, which is merely a way of government computers telling doctors what treatment they are allowed to perform, and it'll be based on the same rationed cost analysis.

They want to get something passed, nearly anything at all, so they can then massage it on the back end to make it mean whatever they want it to mean, and for them to be able to do that, it must be passed by November.

After the August recess, the representatives will come back in session and pass something relatively quickly. Obama will sign in into law. And it'll suck.
