How it should be.

When there is a "leadership void" the People in this country always seem to rise to the occasion and "get 'er down" in spite of government and big business. We are seeing that in the Gulf.

No leadership, no plans, finger pointing and no work. This town is doing something. It may or may not work but at least they are trying!

Pay attention EPA!! Pay attention BP!! Pay attention Obama!! This is how it SHOULD be done. Sitting on your finger or pointing that finger does NOT work, never has. You have to DO something!!

Ok Obama, the time has come. It is time to either lead, follow or get out of the way. It most likely would serve the Nation best if you just got out of the way and let us handle this. You, your administration, the entire government and BP have not been able to handle, I bet the PEOPLE can!!

Watch the short video clip below. See what volunteers can do!! Gotta love 'em!! They see, they do!!

The people of this country have a tremendous amount of power and ability to get things done. Without the governments help.
Maybe someday we will once again elect a strong leader.
What happened to the men like Jefferson, Lincoln, FDR, and Eisenhower?
This country only seems to want to elect mediocre men that are backed by big business or religous organizations and are more interested in the polls then they are in the welfare of the citizens.
Wake up America and elect a LEADER the next time.

Layout,
I'm going to kind of defend BP because of the government. See from my point of view BP doesn't want this disaster even if no one was looking. They have demonstrated enough that they are trying to find solutions but have been stopped within the bureaucracy of our government and fall short in actually delivering under the demands of a second rate administration.

The real issue that the people of the gulf have to contend with is while they support Obama after his messing around with this issue, they will have to rebuild the region. It seems like Katrina all over again in N.O. The threats by Obama are great PR but if they don't get the fact that the administration didn't do a thing to help them by removing the barriers so they can protect themselves with the state leading the way, then they have no one to blame regardless what the cause was.

Without meeting the CEO of BP, Obama has demonstrated to the world his lack of real leadership.

Oh, I agree, Greg, by far, most of the blame for the pathetic reaction falls on the Administrations lack of action. BP should have been left alone to work solely on containing the blow out. The government SHOULD have started cleanup efforts the day after the accident took place. BP should be charged for the efforts.

This event shows what happens when academics with zero life experience take control. They spend far too much time "thinking" and far too little time "doing". Why? They don't know how to DO, they have never done that before. School does not teach "doing".

BP did not want this to be sure. Forgetting everything else, the damage to the Gulf, the bad press etc, that oil that is being lost is worth a LOT of money. Why in the world would they want to lose that? I am not saying that they did not make mistakes or maybe cut some corners. With any luck we can get a REAL investigation to determine the cause/causes of this accident to make it easier to prevent it from happening in the future. I don't believe we will see that with Obama in charge. He just wants to blame and punish, just to "look good" for the voters. Real work is NOT his goal.

Now that is how Jindal should have done it...just do it and worry about the EPA later. How doe the saying go.. "it is easier to ask for forgiveness then to ask for permission..."

I spoke to a really nice lady in the City office in Magnolia Springs, They have set up an account for those that want to donate to their efforts to stop the oil from getting into the bay. Any money sent to them for that use will go into an account just for that purpose and not be used for anything else.

If anyone would care to donate, you can send a check to:

The Town of Magnolia Springs
PO Box 890
Magnolia Springs Ala. 36555

In the Memo line on your check write : "Deep Water Horizon Incident"

You can contact the city offices at 251-965-9888 to verify this info.

Id much rather help people that are working to help themselves then hand more tax dollars to the fed so they can screw it up more....

Maybe we should all send our quarterly tax payments to that fund on June 15th instead of sending them into the IRS. At least then that money would do some good AND we would KNOW where it was going!!
