Hatred for the U.S. Press

One thing I learned over the weekend was the TOTAL hatred that many of our troops have for the U.S. press. The press has been taking an ACTIVE part in getting our young men and women KILLED in Iraq and Afganistan.

HOW?

By publishing stories that should NEVER be published in a time of war.

EXAMPLES:

There was a story released stating the our HUMVEES had new armor on the underside and sides to help fend off the effects of IED's. The report stated that the roof was a real weak spot. Within weeks of that report a new weapon showed up in Iraq. It was a Soviet made anti-tank weapon. It is hand operated. It looks like a small ball with a handle attached. Sorta like a WWII German handgrenade. It is equiped with a small parachute. It is made to be thrown or dropped from above. The chute open and it lets it fall on top of a tank or HUMVEE as a straight angle. When it makes contact it penetrates the roof and then explodes inside. One of the young men I spoke with this past weekend had one enter his HUMVEE, he was a VERY lucky may to survive it.

ANOTHER story. Our beloved press published a story on our body armor. They pointed out the weak points in the story, like the arm pits and inner thighs. Within DAYS of that report snippers starting targeting those spots.

Our press has NO shame. They should be turned over to those they harm. Traitors, no other word says it like that one does.

After my oldest son came back from the ME, he refused to read the newspapers and has no use for most American media at all......he has said straight up the our media including those "enbedded" reporters are the cause for deaths of our soldiers....

Ever wonder a what level of our government those leaks that the press reports are coming from? Care to venture a guess?

With the help of our press and high level government leaks. How else could the press find out. Much of that information they published was CLASSIFIED and for good reason. Want to bet that there will NOT be ANY investigations?

I was reading an interesting piece about Cronkite and his backstabbing of Johnson.

The author pointed out in WW2 the press was censored, they had to follow the orders of the military on what to write and how to write it but cooperated with the press corp with telling them the truth off the record. When we headed into Vietnam, the military took a defensive position because of the "world" presses' opposition of the war. When Cronkite was in Vietnam, he was presented with a problem, how to honestly report the news to the benefit of the country, but the military didn't give him the access or the inclusion as he had in WW2, so he got frustrated. This came to a boil when Tet happened and he claim the war was lost.

This was the real change in this country on how the press operates. It is now a real problem with a press that is openly speakig about national security issues, publishing secerts and creating 'news' in order to sway public opinion. The age of ethical journalism seems to be dead now.

Ethics in general are going away in this country. From the President down to the millions involved in welfare fraud etc. Fewer and fewer people take any pride in them selves The end always seems to justify the means. Those same people have NO problem ridiculing those who have and believe in ethics and an ethical life. Oh how things have changed. The change has been for the worse.
