Government can’t solve all of our problems

Observation....

The American people expect a mountain of services from our federal government and now many people cannot understand why the government spends so much money.

Every time a problem arises, people expect the government to solve it. The federal government is involved in our food supply, schools, workplace safety, travel, law enforcement, health, communications, energy systems and more.

We expect the government to maintain a retirement system for our elderly citizens, maintain huge armed forces to police the entire world, create peace in the Middle East and find more oil.

Our government steps in with benefits if we lose our jobs. Now Americans expect government to find us new jobs.
Our new motto in America is:
Why doesn't the government do something about that?

Our elected officials are not the problem. The American people are the problem!!!

Now, if I could only get the federal government to pass a law getting me into heaven.:D

The Federal government is NOT able to solve all of our problems. They are the CAUSE of most of them!!

Want something done right? Do it yourself.

Only YOU are responsible for YOU. Only YOU are responsible for yours.

Expect something else? Lazy bum.

OVM,
The minority of the country expect the government to be involved, the majority don't want their involvement.

The real issue isn't with the people but with the government itself. Within the government is a soviet style workforce who has unfettered and direct access to the congress and the president. They are the paper pushers, the people in charge of their little fiefdoms and are the ones who remain in power regardless who is in office.

This is THE issue with our country's problems and has been for more than a century. The bureaucracy will continue to grow until we have someone in office who is strong enough to stop it, it is like a virus and many in this country focus on things that don't matter and don't get the huge octopus that has been growing.

This is a problem with most governments. They grow beyond just running the country. This is due to demands by people, citizens and we all know this means special interest groups and the like. Followed by business groups.

Now the expansion of government goes hand in hand with the growth of the population, imports, exports, business and the ability of the government to bring in money and exercise control for the sake and well being of the country (supposedly). Unfortunately it sems to have gotten out of control.

During the 30's depresion there was no unemployment money and such and many suffered a lot. If they wanted a job or food or such they had to go out and earn it and do it to get even the basics as the number of handout groups was a lot lower than today.

Government has gotten involved in a lot more than it should due to demands for over sight and regulation of business and trade. Many areas require government regulations for the protection of the citizens and keep mfrs from producing useless products (some industries).
This has created a variety of new government departments of which more are being created and now we have double coverage in some areas and a lacking in others. Remember government does not create more departments unless some people demand it and show just cause for them, even if regulations exist that if enforced would solve half the problems and eliminated the need for larger government.

Governments do not expand at the request of the people for the most part. They expand to fulfill their need for control and power. This government is no different.
