Gas Pump Sticky Note Protest

When people ask "what can one person do?", this is something that's easy, effective and cheap. Everyone should pick up a stack of these post-it notes next time they're in Wal-mart or someplace similar. An alternative would be to print the message on some sheets of medium sized mailing labels so they would be ready to peel and stick.

Where is the effective part?

My question exactly. Because people have been making their feelings known for years, and it hasn't brought the price [of anything] down at all.
I guess it's effective as far as raising 3M's profits, but lowering the price of gas or fuel? Don't see it. :(

With the price of stickynotes on the rise, I can't afford leaving them on gas pumps to protest the rising cost of gas.

Bringing down the price of gas is not the point. Bringing down the Obama regime is the goal, and the repetition of the message accomplishes the cumulative effect of continual advertising. People see the AFLAC duck every day on TV, almost every hour, and they remember the message. Suppose every time you stop at the pump, there's a sticker that says "$50 To Fill My Fiesta - No Hope & No Change!" or something to that effect. Seeing that message repeatedly has an effect over time, especially if it's a grassroots campaign.

Replacing the Obama regime with a Republican regime is not change... It is more of the same! It is time to start supporting independents and third parties!!!

Pilgrim,
The real problem is educating those who see the high prices and not understanding that it is not libya, not BIG OIL, not the guys in California, not the Iranians but the connection to the low interest rate they got for that car they just bought which has caused the low value of the dollar. You can't educate anyone to be convinced of the real causes of the prices of a gallon of gas.

I sure am glad to see someone else see's this problem. But then again how many people even know what the value of a dollar means???
Exon and the other big boys profit 60% on Wednesday this week. They rub it in our faces everyday but no one can do anything about it but complain. Best thing, debt free, don't charge nothing, nothing at all.

It is not ONLY the low interest rates that are helping to cause this problem. It is also the billions of "fake" dollars that are being printed to finance the run away spending that this congress, with the "blessings" of King Putz the 1st are slamming the country with.

As the value of the dollar drops the price of oil goes up. Much of the profits being seen are due the the increase in the dollar supply. It is not all "real" profit, it is "paper" profit.

Well layout, this problem has been going on since the 30's and FDR's changes to how our fed runs.

Exxon, BP and other major oil companies still have a 7% or less profit on the oil they sell to the consumer market, a lot of the money is coming from producing oil at $40 a bbl and selling the surplus at market price - doesn't anyone get that?

The one entity who is making a killing on the price of gas/diesel are the states who tax it by percentage - Michigan is one where we tax the total amount of gas, not a pretaxed amount.

There are a multitude of problems that are contributing to the mess we are in today. INCLUDING NOT developing our own resources.

Michigan needs to completely redo it's entire tax structure from top to bottom. Won't happen. Too many wimps in our legislature. Too much OLD thinking and an almost total lack of new thinking.
