Gas milage on a 1 ton ext Ford?

the air flow gauge on my gmc for the air filter never moves....and it does function, just not as it is suppose to...

Don't bet on it - it may be working just fine

Air filters can, and do, last up to 100K miles and more - it is entirely dependent on how contaminated, and how restricted, they are.

FWIW, I got 123K miles out of the original air filter in my Sprinter - when I replaced it the restriction indicator on the filter housing was still showing no restriction, and it was functional (tested with vacuum)

I went ahead and replaced it more due to age (couple years old) than anything else.

At this point I have 80K miles on my current air filter.

Yea, but is this in a s/t or a van? Sounds like a s/t to me, that's when I would change my airfilter on my s/t.

That was on my E350 with a Powerstroke. I replace the filter in my M2 about every 6 or 7 months.

I am going by what my restriction gauge is showing, and the fact that I cant see daylight through the filter anymore, even after shaking it out.

I hve a one ton dodge 2002 318 ci throttle body ,,extended van,,,drywgt 5600 lbs,,i only get 15.5 mpg with the air on and worse under a load of 16oo pounds, it is not as good on mileage as some of the newer vans,,my van is old technology.
