OVM... you and I have covered this ground before. The best part of America lies south of the Ohio River. A 48" inch frost line... what!!! Do you live in the permafrost? *L*

Glad to hear South Dakota is removing the waiting period. I purchased a handgun from a gun store, here in Kentucky, just before Christmas. The whole process took about 15 minutes.

Permafrost and South Dakota can have some very like conditions...*LOL*

Paranoia is a valid response when someone is out to get you!!! LOL. I am not paranoid, just cautious. I see trends that I learned in school about Hitler, I see trends that I used to track in my intell job. I see laws being passed that are meant to curtail our Constitution. Just the way I see it. "ASSAULT WEAPON PLEADS NOT GUILTY IN KILLING OF 4 OAKLAND COPS"
An assault rifle (legal in Nevada) that was brought to California and re tooled for pigion hunting has peaded not guilty for accidently being put into the hands of a citizen with an attitude problem. The rifle claims it was just doing it's duty under the Constitution to be compliant with it's purpose to kill indiscrimatly."Don't blame me,I'm a Constitutional right and don't tramp on me or I'll call up all my buddies in Mexico and mow you all down."
The so called "gun dealers" who also stand behind their rights to sell weapons to drug cartels(through flimsey second parties) are outraged that one of their loved ones (assault rifle) is being blamed for the slaughter of so called "public servants". These red neck girly men spokesmen for the gunny boys (most are homophobic and cowards) make believe their outragious opinions are somehow partriotic and represent a majority of Americans.
Fortunatly, most are uneducated and only a small handful appear to be spokesmen with any thing new to say. They live to be able to buy just one more gun from border line criminal gun dealers under a tent on Saturday morning. I guess every body has to serve someone, but when your alter is you gun and amo cabnet,or that one last hand gun (24 is not quite enough)you may be an ignorant red neck, just maybe.

I'll be at the service for the 4 slain officers this morning ,it 's the least I can do to show respect. I'll also be signing and fighter for tighter control and repealing any legislation that may be assisitng dealers in getting weapons in the hands of the cartels.
You know who you are. You should be ashamed.

We can always count on the left for such accurate and insightful commentary filled with inaccuracies and hate speech. The first two officers were killed in one location with a handgun and the second two were killed with a rifle. The rifle was a semi-automatic rifle but not an assault weapon. The first two officers, being motorcycle patrol, could have been run down and killed almost as easily as they were shot. Once again we have a hand wringing outcry to legislate against an inanimate object rather than facing the harsh realities and properly dealing with the problem in society. Such a lack of strength and resolve is worthy of hand wringing. The lack of courage on the left is truly disheartening.

I for one am ashamed. Ashamed we've failed for so long to teach the proper values and morals and history in this once great nation. Ashamed we've let the immoral take over so many key positions and lead us so far into the failed social system we're crushed beneath. Ashamed the best that can be brought to the argument from those in the wrong is name calling and hate speech. Ashamed we let the laws be multiplied that penalize the good and honest citizens rather than dealing with the true issue in cases just such as this. Ashamed this nation is in a death spiral of liberalism and socialism from which it likely never will recover. Ashamed that any American citizen could consider the uncredited article quoted above anything more than mindless drivel from a non-American or a defective. Ashamed the Constitution means nothing to those who spew the foolishness quoted above. Those are the things I'm ashamed of.

AS am I LDB, as am I. Blaming law abidiing citizens for the crimes of others is just plain STUPID!! And can somebody PLEASE tell me why these career criminals are out on the street? I don't give a rats patute how crowded the jail is. If you don't like living in nasty, crime ridden, dangerous conditions there is a very easy solution, DON'T DO THE CRIME!! It really is that easy. By the way that goes for dirty nasty cities, don't wait for the "Government" to clean it up, all it takes is EVERY resident clean thier own property and the sidewalk and the street in front, and guess what, EVERYTHING is clean. It is that easy. Don't whine about how busy you are. CLEAN IT UP. OH, and on the crowded prisions, I don't want the guards lifes in danger due to the over crowding, SO, just have them outside to keep the "gargbage" inside. Layoutshooter

Leo,the jig is up my friend. The copius number of assault weapons and semi automatic rifles(95%) that have ended up in the hands of the cartel army's are coming from your friends who peddle them under tents to anyone with a heart beat and a drivers license. Not much more is needed.
Your good friends who reap the profits and have no ill feelings about where their profits ultimatly come from are the lowest form of pond scum.

There are miles of police cars and motorcycles out side on 880. As far as the eye can see Leo,thousands of cars and motorcycles. They came to mourn the wholesale slaughter of 4 public servants by a disturbed man and his 2 LEAGLLY sold at one point weapons.Probaly purchased at a gun show by someone you may be great friends with. One of your brothers in this sick and deadly little game you so stubornly and ignorantly participate in.

No Leo,you and your kind are now on public trial, like it or not. I witnessed 18,000 souls from Oakland and surrounding communities weep, pray and speak openly about the criminality of social deviates that are engagaed in the "legal" sale of boy toys. Grow up Leo and claim your manhood in a mature and responsible manner and keep a 22 around if you must for the boogie man. I know he's looking for you,as you so fear.I'll get him with my sling shot if he stops by my place first.

Tallcal101, those cops were shot by a SCUMBAG who should have NEVER been on the street!! HE, not I, is soley responible for those cops deaths. With a record as long as he had he should have been run through the limb chipper years ago. I don't makes excuses for criminals. They are criminals by choice. Period. I bet some will STILL try to make excuses for that SCUMBAG. His daddy ran away. His mommy did not breast feed him. He could not afford $200 sneakers so it made him hostile. B.S. He is what he is. A SCUMBAG cop killing Piece of *HIT!! Nuke him. Layoutshooter

With all due respect Layout, now who's making excuses.Sounds like you would prefer not to address my little quibble with the brain dead gun dealers who are in fact profiting off the drug cartels. Just for your information, the cartels are real, and they are coming, and they are armed with guns from America. The enemy traitors are the douche bag gun dealers. They are way ahead of their misguided end users in needing to be tossed under the bus.

It's about the guns at tbis point Layout. I wish it was just hunters who enjoy their shot guns and deer hunters with their rifles, and yes a .22 for the boogie man.
But things are way out of hand and getting worse.I witnessed what is happening this morning. You you can spout off all you want about the bad guys, but it's just grist for the mill until the much deeper issues of inventory and greed are addressed. And they will be.
From the manufactuers to the dingy tent dealers.
This human trash represents the very worst that our framers could have imagined when they extended the privilage of gun ownership.

Tallcal,
The blame sits with the state of California and no one else. The prison and parole system failed the public, not any gun laws. Now that you will see more crime in your state soon, I feel sorry for you all out there. You elected a mess who will follow the court and ignore the safety of the common innocent people, really sad that the criminals have more rights than the law abiding people.

Not withstanding, a lot of the weapons that are in Mexico have been brought in legally from China, Russia and even Cuba not the US and our problem is not going south but going north.

We had a quiet bust here, they got a lot of guns, grenades, RPGs and a lot of other stuff being sold to some nice middle eastern people by some Mexicans. These were not the 'assault' rifles like we can get here but serious military weapons that never made it here through a gun dealer. Even the cartels in Mexico would not even bother getting their weapons from the US, it is too time consuming to pull this together, they would go to an arms dealer just like the Africans do and buy in quantity.

SoS Clinton made it a point to blame us for Mexico's problem but the only thing that we are to blame is not build that big half mile border buffer zone from the shores of Texas to the San Diego coast.

Ok, 1st the weapons that are being sold from the states are mainly AK47 and AR15 "type" SEMI AUTO, not FULL AUTO and not ASSAULT weapons. That being said, yes there weapons that are going south, but not in the #'s they have in the past, and they are NOT FULL AUTO ASSAULT WEAPONS, just SEMI AUTO LEGAL WEAPONS...And that is because, The drug cartels have moved past the civilian weapons and into MILITARY weapons from all over the world. They now have upped their arms cache, now using hand grenades, grenade launchers, armor-piercing ammo and antitank rockets and launchers fragment grenades and full auto pistols that are not even available in the US. Some of these weapons are coming directly from european manufactures, some with countries of origin stamped on them, some with no markings at all which would indicate they are "knockoffs" of the real deal, made cheaply in factories over seas in asia and russia and italy. The bigger drug cartels are laughing at what the liberals call "assault weapons" (the AK's and AR type) because they have moved past them...onto the REAL THING!!!!!

As for the need to get weapons from the US because of so-called "strong anti gun ownership laws in Mexico", give me a break, gun ownership has been a way of life in mexico forever and while illegal, most gun laws are ignored and it hasn't changed a bit, the everyday citizens are for the most part armed and carry regularly. Those that can afford it, have very nice caches of very nice guns including "full auto weapons", weapons that WE AMERICANS CAN NOT BUY WITHOUT A SPECIAL TAX STAMP, CLASS 3 FIREARMS PERMIT AND A BACKGROUND CHECK THAT NOT MANY CAN PASS, the avg gun dealer does not have a class 3 permit, and the chances of you buying a class 3 full auto weapon at a gun show are slim to none...

Now you don't have to take my word for it, here is and article from the LA TIMES, that goes right to the fact , that while yes guns are going to Mexico from the US, it isn't the full auto military weapons the drug cartels are using...what they are getting here are fully LEGAL weapons that are legal to have and sell here.

Mexico's Drug War: Mexico drug cartels’ new weaponry means war - Los Angeles Times

MEXICO UNDER SIEGEDrug cartels' new weaponry means war

By Ken Ellingwood and Tracy Wilkinson
March 15, 2009

Reporting from Zihuatanejo, Mexico, and Mexico City -- It was a brazen assault, not just because it targeted the city's police station, but for the choice of weapon: grenades.

The Feb. 21 attack on police headquarters in coastal Zihuatanejo, which injured four people, fit a disturbing trend of Mexico's drug wars. Traffickers have escalated their arms race, acquiring military-grade weapons, including hand grenades, grenade launchers, armor-piercing munitions and antitank rockets with firepower far beyond the assault rifles and pistols that have dominated their arsenals.

Most of these weapons are being smuggled from Central American countries or by sea, eluding U.S. and Mexican monitors who are focused on the smuggling of semiauto- matic and conventional weapons purchased from dealers in the U.S. border states of Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and California.

Finish the whole article at the link above. Also within the full article is a list for the weapons that have been recovered in mexico that CAN NOT BE BOUGHT in the US....BY anyone....

And just for giggles, here is another from the Latin American News:

Mexico Arrests Cartel Hit Man in Execution of Army General

Latin American Herald Tribune - Mexico Arrests Cartel Hit Man in Execution of Army General

MEXICO CITY -- A rogue ex-soldier and presumed head of a group of Gulf cartel enforcers in the Mexican resort city of Cancun has been arrested on charges he ordered the killing of retired Gen. Mauro Enrique Tello Quiñones and 10 other military men, officials said.

In the operation, the Mexican army also seized 23 assault rifles, 20 handguns, 23 grenades, two grenade launchers, a rocket launcher, cartridges and ammunition clips, $42,000 worth of cash, six vehicles and radio equipment.

You can read the whole article at the link provided above

Hmm after you read the whole article you get a picture of alot of CURRENT and EX-MEXICIAN MILITARY persomel using military weapons to do the killings........hmmmm, you mean the military is involved it the drug cartels? Well we all know that military trained people would want a good SEMI AUTO AK or AR type weapon Vs. a FULLY AUTO WEAPON.........rightttt

And since they found VEHICLES (probably SUV's) , think we should outlaw the manufacture of all SUV's also!?!? Wait, Barry wants to do that anyhow...these guys will soon be driving Prisis all over in mexico!!

Now I don't know about any of you gun guys here, but I have been in gun stores out west, NM, Ari, Tx, Okla, Neb, just to name a few and i am not talking about 1 or 2 shops, I buy ammo all over whenever I can, and I have NEVER seen a ARMED military hand grenade, or grenade launcher for sales, even face to face behind the local 7-11 at 2 am under a street light.........You and no one else is buying military grade weapons from gun shop owners or manufactures in the US....sorry, it ain't happening..but this liberal Brady bunch B/S is nothing new, we just have a new weasel in Eric Holder feeding a New improved Kool-aid for the liberal gun haters to drink...from Barry, Oh and hilliary said that the US was the problem with the drugs coming out of mexico, with our "habit" that we BUY all those Mexican drugs, looks like they want to get the US anyway they can, blame the US, they are easy targets..........

As for the Police killings, blame CALIF., Oakland is a hole the needs leveled and given a fresh start with a strong face of firepower and the crime rate will go down. But then you have the state Gov about ready to let thousands out of the state prisons because they can't afford to keep them open an liberl judges say that they can only be at 955 of capacity.......good luck with that...something tells me alot of liberal gun haters are a family member being beat , raped, assaulted or murdered by a street thug away from being a gun owner.........

Oh and 1 more from a Gun Owners point of view that lived in Mexico until recently:

You and I Can't Buy the Guns Mexican Cartels OwnThe Administration is Not Dealing Straight With Us on Mexico's Gun Problem
Ralph Weller
March 1 2009

Mexico Cartels Don't Buy Assault Weapons from U.S.

Let's set things straight right up front. Yes, some guns are being smuggled into Mexico from the U.S. Most are handguns. But, handguns are being illegally trafficked from state to state and from the U.S. to Canada. It should come as no surprise that guns are smuggled into Mexico. But, the problem being portrayed by the U.S. media and our government is not as it seems. You see, Mexico doesn't allow ownership of most firearms, so ordinary Mexican people seeking self-protection will find a way to get them into Mexico. As for the drug cartels operating in the border towns along the U.S., they have other sources for their weapons and have become the prime supplier within Mexico.......

Finish the article at the link shown above.

Actually there is only one assault weapon ever made, the Sturmgewehr 44 which was actually called a Maschinenpistole 44 for obvious reasons. The present day "assault weapon" can be any semi-auto rifle or shotgun and is a political term. Even the AK 47 is not an assault weapon but a battle rifle like the CETME, FN Fal (which by the way is still used in Africa a lot) and the M16. Notice that I did not say AR15 because it is not a select fire battle rifle.

As soon as you read or hear the word "ASSAULT" used inconjunction with any weapon sold to "JSP" daily at 99% of the gun shops in this country or gun showes, you can bet it is from a liberal gun grabber......

As I said, most gun grabbers are 1 rape, beating, assault, or murder of a family member or friend by a street thug away from being a gun owner. chances are most already are, they just won't admit it, because that would interfer with their ideals.....not owning the gun, just admitting that they feel the need for one.....
