Like many of you, I also eat fast food and hate it so to speak. The last few times in a Burger K, Wendys,McD's,and Hardees, I have done this at the counter with a manager watching.

When my food arrives, say a standard cheeseburger with all the trimmings as best a fast food place can get a grip what all the trimmings means, I open the burger and say,,I want you to look at the burger you all gave me and now I want u to look at the picture on the wall that's suppose to be this burger.

The burger on the wall picture is showing lots of nice lettuce, maybe 3 nice slices of tomatoes, large piece of onion, and the meat is not flattened, with a bun that's not flattened .
Yep , the burger u get looks nothing like the picture overhead.
Usually the clown manager says: well that's the way we do it or something stupid.

So,,should I ask for a burger that looks like the pic on the wall,,call the local TV station in front of the manager and ask them to come down, call the local food inspection office, or call the home office and complain,,well its a start in the right direction because the fast food clowns think we will eat anything they throw out on the grill or squirt out of a grease gun and call it dressing,,give me a break,,,

I have not yet started on the slopjar junk in truck stops, now u all know that's a can of sheet's. amen?

Yeap I do eat some fast food...but no where near what did when i sold trucks and the office was cross the street fro 3 of the big names in the industry...

Now I cook real food at home, cool it, vac seal it, and put it in the frig in the van and heat it back to temp in the mirco wave in the van....at any given time I will have between 10 -15 meals in the truck...The fast food I eat now is usually when I feel the need to eat while driving....not while sitting....

I would say if it bugs you that much don't spend your money there, problem solved. On another note did you know there are such things as food artists who make foods look good for the camera? Kind of like a makeup artist for food.

That's what I'm going to start doing next time I'm home, except I have no fridge, so I'll be dehydrating it, putting it into baggies, and rehydrating it in one of those lunchpail heaters. No refrigeration needed.

The rumor is that now that I'm starting to buy 3Xs in some types of shirts, that I'm dangerously close to being at the point where I should contemplate the possibility of considering thinking about cutting back a little. I guess fast food, with the exception of Taco Bell, which I may never be able to give up, may have to go.

I have been thinking i need to dehydrate fruit, but I haven't done it yet, and with fruit, you don't need to re-hydrate it...but yea you would then have good food...well at least food that is better for you....

As far as the need for Taco Bell..I seen today that after being accused of their taco meat not being meat or mostly filler..Taco Bell released the info on their meat and the fact that it is more meat then filler...so you should be ok there!! LOL...:D

Maybe a rolling 24 hr roach coach with meat and tators, and greens and rolls and hot coffee should start coming to the truckstops like they did when I worked a factory job many years ago,,it was good hot food, yep we made fun of the roach coaches,,but it was good food for the working man, IMHO Ps, and maybe if they did, they wouldnt charge 12 bucks for it, and no tip.............well its a thought.:D

I thought you spent a few days in Laredo...there is a rolling Tamale wagon on the road between the TA and the J everyday...fresh, homemade and darn good...

There is also a few of them out at truck stops on 20 headed west out of midland...have had great BBQ at a TA from a smoker pulled behind a Ford PU at TS in KC MO...you just have to look...
