Hi just reading these again, and after some debate back and forth still considering this occupation as a career.
My thing is I do not want haz-mat endorsement or crossborder loads. Is there companiies out there that will consider this.
Also would like to maybe have regional services .Like east coast.
I have experience in the air freight industry, attime sdelivering to various airports in tthe pa ny md. area.
Also debating between van and sprinter.

Thank you for any advise.

There are a few companys that do not require hazmat or crossing into Canada. As far as regional work.. I havent seen a company other then the air freight company that only have regional work. If I had the money to choose a van or a sprinter i would choose the sprinter for the space. A vehicle only gets smaller the more you drive it.

While I can understand why some do not want what could seem as a "hassle" crossing the border..... IMO you are seriously damaging your full potential by not obtaining your Haz-Mat endorsement. I have seen it all too many times where a truck sits far too long because they were not qualified to take a Haz load. The choice is obviously yours to make, but if I were to see any advice come out of this, it would be to reconsider not getting that endorsement.

Now to directly answer your question. I could be wrong on this, but I don't "think" Panther requires either. The trick will be finding an owner willing to contract someone who doesn't have one or both of the above.

I am not saying this is the case with you but some drivers want to avoid HAZMAT and cross border work because criminal records prevent that kind of work.

While drivers like these might seek to avoid HAZMAT and cross border work, many expedite carriers still run background checks and make hiring decisions based on them. If the reason for avoiding HAZMAT and cross border work is a record that prevents such work, the same record may keep a driver out of expediting.

Contact CEVA in your area, they do a lot of regional work.

No, I have no clue how to contact them.

its up to you what you don't want to do.
how many other ways do you want to limit your earning potential? any big cities you don't want to drive in during rush hour?

call the companies each is different. don't ask us to do the recruiting screening for you.lack of contact and experience is a good way to limit earning potential.

All of them!!! [But when ya gotta, ya gotta.].

Thanks for saying what needs to be said: if you don't have the motivation to pick up the phone and call the folks who have the carrier related answers, [that would be the carriers], you're probably not going to be terribly successful as an independent contractor.

lack of contact and experience is a good way to limit earning potential.

There are so many ways to limit earning potential, the fewer apply, the better.
